shredie Posted December 5, 2014 #51 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Strange that someone so classy would even be on the cruise. So little self control. How'd they get the money for the cruise? Probably handed to them. Money and class do not always go hand in hand.
tanzer22pilot Posted December 5, 2014 #52 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I guess there are worse ways to go than in your sleep on a cruise. Personal financial planning goal is to die on the last day of an around the world cruise. When they run the credit card it is maxed out and my bank accounts are zero. Anything left is a lack of planning on my part.

Except... they put a 'hold' on your card for the estimated on board spending and you'll be called to the purser's office (while you're alive) if the card is 'maxing out'. EDIT: They're not dumb - the line will pries the money from your cold, dead hands. Edited December 5, 2014 by Bill B
Kingofcool1947 Posted December 5, 2014 #54 Share Posted December 5, 2014 (edited) Yes, its better known as the walk in freezer! Isn't that usually next to the meat locker? They share the same refrigeration unit? Edited December 5, 2014 by Kingofcool1947

azdmelani Posted December 5, 2014 #59 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I would guess that many people die on cruises. Cruising attracts a high percentage of older people who have various health issues. Obviously the lines don't advertise the fact but, if you have cruised much at all, you have likely been on a cruise where at least one passenger died. It happens to us all... This happened on the Royal a year ago. Someone collapsed while dancing in the piazza. Sad :(
Vexorg Posted December 5, 2014 #60 Share Posted December 5, 2014 When I did the Ultimate Ship Tour on the Ruby Princess a few years back, they briefly showed the morgue (not in use at the time). It's basically in the back of a closet in the Medical Center, and I think it's got room for 3 or 4 bodies. If I recall, the chief medical officer who was providing the tour said that there was an average of about 1-2 deaths per year on the ship.

AZbeachboy Posted December 5, 2014 #62 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Yes, its better known as the walk in freezer! I knew someone was going to say that. :D Very funny. However, I think they do that on Navy Ships.

Then I guess our cruise doubled the average, unless the Star has a higher average.
Curtzilla Posted December 6, 2014 #64 Share Posted December 6, 2014 When we were still docked at San Pedro, I saw a guy walked off in handcuffs. I don't know what he did. He tried to make a 6:30 reservation for MTD
IECalCruiser Posted December 6, 2014 #65 Share Posted December 6, 2014 One of the passengers in the cabin next to us passed away the night they boarded :( We heard the Code Alpha at about 11:30pm. We have seen hearses at the ship at ports on other cruises. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
