battery low Posted December 5, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Has anyone taken loose leaf tea with them on a RC ship? Did you have any issues?
cb at sea Posted December 5, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 5, 2014 If you want to, you can bring it....room service will send hot water, but it certainly won't be boiling. Same with the hot water dispenser in the WJ...it's hot, but not boiling. In the dining room, they will bring hot water in one of those containers....again, not boiling! battery low Posted December 5, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Good to know. :) Never thought to take my own before but the thought came up while enjoying some loose leaf caffeine free earlier today.
raytownlady Posted December 5, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I took some with me along with my tea ball and had no issues finding hot water. we would stop off in the promenade café for water so I could enjoy a nice cup of tea every evening before dinner. donovan52 Posted December 5, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 5, 2014 I bring loose tea on the ship, I put it in fillable teabags. Water for tea shouldn't be boiling anyway - I've had no problems using hot water from the cafe promenade or windjammer.
Dayenu Posted December 6, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 6, 2014 Just open a teabag and let it loose ;) Seriously, in WJ they have regular, decaf, herbal, flavored. I stopped bringing my own.
Raxter54 Posted December 6, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 6, 2014 Hot tea is listed as one of the "free" beverages on board RC ships. Does anyone know what types or brands of hot tea are available? I may bring my own box of Twinings with me...
knewcrewzr Posted December 6, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 6, 2014 I was disappointed the teas were not the same as those found on other RCCL ships during my previous cruises. I use as little caffine as possible and the Tazo decaf on the Oasis was either Chamomile( YUCK) or mint ( Double YUCK). One server during breakfast found a decaf black tazo tea but for some reason it tasted soapy. So did the Tazo regular Earl Grey from the Cafe Promonade. I found a tetley regular tea bag in the Central Park Cafe one day at lunch, but when I went back to get more they were gone. I will BMOT from now on. While the water may not be "boiling" the moment you receive it, it is way too hot to drink and will brew tea fine. I asked for hot tea in the MDR and it was way too hot to drink for most of dinner. I may bring my own box of Twinings with me... They use both Fields and Twinings. We found the teas to be very good. We had hot tea from the Cafe Promenade, MDR, Windjammer and Concierge Lounge.
