Collector cruise

I have seen a roll call for the second leg of our 21 day cruise. This being our first HAL cruise I was wondering if we get off the ship when it returns to FL after the first leg and if so can we board with a second set of wine

On the last full day of the first segment of your cruise you will get a letter indicating what time to report and where to get off the ship in Ft Lauderdale to go through immigration. You will be given an Intransit Card that you use to get back on the ship.

Take your passport with you.

You can leave the terminal and do whatever you want to.

You will be charged the corkage fee for all wines you bring onto the ship on Intransit day and all ports you visit as well. No freebee wines on the second segment.

If you do go shopping to bring back more wine for the second segment and your Intransit day is a Sunday, no alcohol or wine can be sold until Noon.

It really depends. Just reading another thread by POA and they did not have to leave the ship, they just had to gather in a spot on the ship for about 30 mins. We have found that sometimes you do and sometimes you don't. You will get notification in your cabin a few days before to tell you the proceedure you must follow.

I believe the posters question was regarding wine.

It is up to CBP whether they will send an Official aboard the ship to check the 'in transit' guests or will require you to go ashore to clear Immigration. HAL does what the Officials order and all guests will receive a letter last day of your first segment telling you which procedure will be followed the next day.

Enjoy your cruise. Sounds wonderful. :)

As to the wine, Kazu reported that on her b-to-b on Prinsendam last month, they were charged corkage for the wine they brought aboard second segment. It probably is somewhat inconsistent and some may be permitted to pass while others will be sent to the 'wine table' and charged the fee.
