Crazy planning mom Posted December 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2014 on the NCL website, 2016 prices are like 700 dollars more for the 2016 sailings rather than 2015 for the same month in each year. Any idea why?
JasonV1 Posted December 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2014 POA prices don't drop until it gets closer. Talked to the booking desk onboard Getaway and they confirmed that is just the way it is for that ship since they are the only year round game in town. I've got an inside triple booked for June 2016 that is pricey but comes with a ton of OBC. I'm really hoping it drops so I can get a balcony, as those are crazy expensive right now. The ship is relatively safe to book closer to the sail date, but I wanted to have something reserved just in case. I've got price trackers set on multiple June sailings in case deals come along for any of them.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted December 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2014 Prices on our 2016 POA cruise have risen quite a bit since the launch prices, so I'm guessing that at least that sailing is selling well. The 2016 launch prices were higher than the 2015 cabin we cancelled (other bucket list items trumped Hawaii). As the economy recovers, all cruise prices are going up -- the cruise lines are pretty sophisticated about getting the max revenue they can.
