Separate boarding area for Haven people?

I just upgraded to a Haven Front facing suite for this Sundays BA cruise. I'm also a first timer. I have heard, but not confirmed, that there is a separate area/line at the NYC port for Haven folks to board. I just saw my first video of the line for everyone to get on board. Im hoping that someone can confirm.

Also, does the Haven courtyard have it's own sauna/steam room? I've gotten conflicting reports so far.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

There is a separate waiting area for all suite guests. When you get in to the terminal approach the person with the clipboard and tell them you have a suite and they will direct you. Enjoy!

There is a separate line/waiting area. It is on the right side way back. There are restrooms nearby. You will have to go through usually one maybe two sets of people who will check you on a list plus the security scan. Then inside the area there are several shoreside people to check you in.

On the BA there is a steam room just inside the door in front of the front starboard side hot tub. In between those areas is a closet with towels.

As a suite guest be sure to take advantage of the separate security line for suite guests located on the right side of the security line up area. It gets you to the head of the line very quickly.

After you go through the suite check in process, the check in people will direct you to the suite/VIP area. It is usually located immediately after the security screening on the left side.

When the ship is cleared for loading, you will be in the first wave of passengers on the ship. Typically you will be brought directly to the haven area for lunch.

Yes, be sure you ask. Separate security line, separate waiting lounge and check- in area and VIP service all the way through customs but ask because once they take you off the ship and through the first line, NCL loses track of you. After you get luggage, say "Haven"? to the terminal employees and you will bypass the customs line as well.

Despite being booked into the Garden Villa / having platinum status and being a guest of CAS we were directed to the general line for check-in after going thru security at the pier. I spoke to one of the gatekeepers and as a “favor” she directed us to the line for those that need assistance (mom had a walker with her)

I was still not happy so after being questioned /blocked by 3 gatekeepers I went directly to the VIP lounge –I was finally able to explain our plight to the NCL employees inside the lounge There was no computer in the VIP lounge to check us in with so we were escorted thru the crowd to a check-in kiosk and then back to the VIP lounge .

The personnel at the pier for the most part are not NCL employees so they either haven’t a clue or don’t care about your status or perks so if you think you were directed to the wrong line speak up – we would probably still be standing in line …

We're in a Haven suite on Sunday on the Breakaway as well. I'm really surprised to hear there is no computer check-in in the VIP room, it was there for our last two cruises out of NY in Suites earlier this year. It was nice sitting down and waiting our turn at the check in desk in the VIP room.

Sounds like you were on the Gem?

On the BA in March we sort of had the gatekeeper experience. Went in and asked room number. Told them and she also asks what floor. I tell her 16. She says there is no 16. I tell her yes there is. Finally get to next lady and she checks us off and directs us to the lounge. We had computers.

My family were Haven guests November 30 on the Breakaway. When we got to the terminal, I kept saying to staff that we were Haven guests. After the security checkpoint, we were directed to the back of the terminal. As we walked, I became a bit confused at first given that we passed the photo op and other service stations. I almost turned around but asked staff again. They pointed to a Haven gold symbol/flag further back. There was staff there to greet us and we were directed to the Haven check-in lounge nearby. Staff then took us on the ship and told us to meet on the 16th floor if we were separated. There was staff to assist us getting on and off the elevators and we were taken the to Haven on the 16th floor where we met our concierge and butler. Lunch was available in the Haven but we opted to go to our suite first.

Wow. Thanks 1 and all for the great feedback. I haven't been this excited since my first trip to Vegas , 15 years ago. I just wish I had figured out how to post questions on CC earlier.

Have a great time. Just have your documents and room number ready. If anybody gives you a problem and tries to direct you into the regular lines just keep telling them.

From our experience and what most others here have reported is they start taking you on the ship around 11:15 and you go to the Haven lounge to meet concierge. They will then let you roam until the rooms are ready at noon. They will serve sliders and fries in the Haven area (not the restaurant) at the time. I believe the restaurant opened at noon.

We had a couple sliders then roamed the ship until noon as there weren't a ton of passengers on yet.

We had this on breakaway in may 2014, But when we were on the Gem in August on disembarkation we were with the masses. I was told no haven express. So does this only pertain to breakaway on disembarkation? liz

That's odd. We were on the Gem in July of this year and had express disembarkation. Our concierge Carlos escorted us off the ship in a group from the haven courtyard right to the gold luggage section, he even got a porter for us. Carlos was awesome!

Does a mini-suite guest get to use a faster check in process or is it full suite and above?

Only full suites. At some ports they have a line for mini-suites and whether it is any faster than any of the other lines can vary.

Looks like your next trip on NCL is in the Med? If you are going out of Barcelona they did have a separate line for minis but the last time we went it was 2008 out of Barcelona so things may have changed. If you are going out of a different Med port I don't have any info on those ports.
