Santiago before a cruise

We are spending 3 nights in Santiago before boarding a Cruise. I need some advice:

 

1. Best ways to get to Valparaiso from Santiago (limo, taxi etc)

 

2. Suggested tours pre cruise such as wine country etc

Combining both concerns, you could get transportation plus a customized tour through Leo Cuzmar and his associates. We have used him twice and he is the best. How burdened down and or mobile are you? If you can get to the west bus station (on the metro line), busses cost about $5 a person to get to Valparaiso and it is not a long walk (10 minutes or so) from the bus station to the cruise terminal.

We are using South Excursions for a transfer from Santiago to Valparaiso that includes a stop at a winery and a quick tour of Santiago and Valparaiso before being dropped off at our hotel in Valparaiso.

 

They also do just a straight drop off to the pier.

We used SouthExcursions twice for two different cruises ending in Valparaiso.

They gave us a full day tour on the transit day, including stops at winerys, then tours of Santiago and Valpo. Then on anther day, they gave us more touring of Santiago as well as transit to airport.

 

Their guides are excellent. Ask for Yvonne. Also, ask to go to the Casa del Bosque winery.

The best way to get to Valparaiso from Santiago is by doing a winetour transfer.

We did one the other way around from the port to Santiago.
