From Embassy Suites/ Fort Lauderdale To Port Of Miami

For the last four cruises we have stayed at the Embassy Suites on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale, and sailed out of Miami. The Embassy Suites is on the outer edge of pickup areas for the shuttle companies--some don't pick up there.

This year we tried something different and it worked out great.

We took a taxi to the airport on the 7th for our Conquest cruise, and took a taxi back from the Port of Miami on the 14th to the airport.

Yellow Cab has an app you can download and actually schedule your pickup time and location--we did this on the 7th to go from the Embassy Suites to the airport.

We scheduled QLS on the 7th from the FLL airport to Miami, and back from Miami on the 14th.

Everything worked out great for both trips--the taxis were on time, and the service from QLS was excellent.

Communication with both Yellow Cab and QLS was excellent and everything was very easy.

With all fares and gratuities, the total was about $50/PP each way to and from Miami.

Could we do cheaper? Sure--But we want to stay at that particular hotel and it works out well for us.

I am confused?

"We took a taxi to the airport on the 7th for our Conquest cruise, and took a taxi back from the Port of Miami on the 14th to the airport."

"We scheduled QLS on the 7th from the FLL airport to Miami, and back from Miami on the 14th."

I think you used a cab to get from the ES to FLL - did you use QLS from FLL to POM and back? Why then did you also use a cab to get back from POM to the airport?

Why did it cost $50 per person when QLS typically charges about $15 per person each way? What am I missing/misreading in this report?

12/7: Taxi from Embassy Suites to FLL Airport; QLS from FLL Airport to Port of Miami/ Carnival Conquest----

12/14: QLS from Port of Miami to FLL Airport; Taxi from FLL Airport to Embassy Suites for post- cruise night.

Total overall pricing was for taxis and QLS combined-- including all gratuities.

Sorry for the confusion.
