coolestwife Posted August 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2005 If two people are booked in a cabin and one cancels, does the person still going end up having to pay the double occupancy fare?
nets33 Posted August 24, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I believe there is a premium cost for one person in a cabin. The best thing to do is to call Carnival or your TA directly and get the answer from them.
phlydude Posted August 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2005 IF the other person cancels within the no refund period, they will not get their $$$ back and you won't have to pay any add'l money
MrPete Posted August 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Yup. Twice the fare. Make sure you are refunded the port charges, if possible.
serene56 Posted August 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2005 If you are talking about your Victory cruise-- for one person to cruise will cost you 1119 in an inside cabin or 874 to book a 1A. so you pay two times the cruise rate and only one times the port and taxes. coolestwife Posted August 24, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted August 24, 2005 So, say two people book and pay in full, and the one person cancels and receives the full refund, the second person would then have to ante up the additional money? even after paying in full? Yes, either way, one or two people, the cabin has to be paid for. So if you have someone cancel and they get a refund, you will be required to pay. You may be able to go down to a 1A cabin and pay 150% (single supplement) if there is availability, otherwise, you pay...
GroupCruiser Posted August 24, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2005 That's the catch. If you're heading to Vegas and have to cancel, they can fill the room the next day. After a Cruise Ship leaves the dock, that cabin will be empty all week, plus they already bought food, paying the help, and so on.

Wanna know what really sucks here--- if you got a balcony cabin and relaize that it costs to omuch to pay yourself-- the whole booking needs to be cancelled and you have to rebook the cabin at todays prices.
