suggestions for non-beach excursions?

Hubby and I are looking for a more active activity in costa maya than going to the beach. Problem is hubby's criteria - travel distance must be limited to less than 30 min. We've done mayan ruins once in cozumel and would do them again but everything I've seen includes an hour bus ride each way which makes hubby climb the walls. I tried to book the atv tour from costamayacruiseexcursions dot com as it is close to port but alas, it was already full. The ATV tour from norwegian seems to be a 45 min. bus ride and hubby still said no go. Anyone have ideas for us?

You can dig around a bit on line. There used to be a bicycle/kayak tour to the Mahaual malecon and south. Left from the cruise port. Might have been a ship based excursion. Check your ship's excursions. I think there's a vid out on YouTube that someone took of the return leg along the malecon.

Otherwise, this is a beach port.
