Just booked for the Sept. Mexican out of LA. Anyone have pictures of this cabin or has stayed in this cabin. I am curious about the balcony....I know it wraps around the side but is that part big enough for chairs to? Are there balconies above it and is it all open? Thanks for all your replies.

OPPS...my current Cruise Atlas shows it as a twin porthole oceanview but the online deck plans show it has a balcony. :o:o:o

The description says:

Special Notes:

EXTENDED ANGLED BALC

No, R746 is indeed a balcony. I think it was a later addition. Those starboard porthole cabins were renumbered and are now 748/750.

I couldn't find any photos of the ship showing that new balcony. This photo (from 2010) dates from before that cabin exists . . . but it does show two possible options for what the balcony will look like: either a recessed "cave" balcony like the last one on Aloha deck or an open one like the last cabin on Caribe deck. I guess you'll have to wait until you get there to find out which, unless someone else has a photo they can post.

Thank you to both of you for your replies. It is funny Astro flyer that you said in your atlas it shows porthole cabin. I was looking on one of the "cabin websites" and it showed an empty space and the cabin #'s ended at R740 I think it was. Not too up-to-date! I guess I will have to wait and see. It is a balcony though and is a BE category. Thanks for that picture....it adds to the mystery lol. I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks again.

We stayed in this cabin in December. It's a big balcony, as you sit you can see the bridge of the ship. You could easily seat four. There are no balconies above it, and it is fully covered.

The 4 aft facing Crown OV cabins on Riviera deck have portholes.

On the Emerald they evolved to regular windows like OV cabins, and on the Ruby they evolved to 4 balconies.

As mentioned R746 was an after thought and cut out of the angled steel bulkhead, and kind of faces forward. ;)

Hi Cormike1

We stayed in R746 on the Crown in Sept 2013.

The cabin is similar to all others in the category.

The balcony is larger, it is at an angle looking straight down the ship with 3 steel walls.

It is in a good position for the Rear Adult pool and Horizon Court.

As others have said it appears to be an add on cabin.

There are no cabins above only the Horizon Court.

Sorry I haven't any photos

Thanks again for your quick responses. Sounds like a wonderful cabin to choose. I was surprised this aft was available and glad it was. We have never had the very last aft so it will be neat to see how we like it. Sometimes it bothers me (queasiness) facing the wrong way but it seems to happen if I am walking against the water and while I am eating I try to face the way the ship is sailing. It will be interesting whether I enjoy this or not. Regardless, it is right above the aft pool and that is where we love to hang out on sea days. Thanks again!
