Flights out of Nola after cruse on Dawn?

I just booked my cruise on the Dawn! I'm trying to figure out how much time I need between the time the ship arrives in NOLA and my flight home. If the ship arrives at 8 could I make a 10:30 flight?

NCL Transfers from New Orleans told us they can not guarantee that you will make any flights prior to 1230pm upon your return. It also depends on what is going on in New Orleans, when are you sailing? The airport to the port is 30 minutes or so.

I wouldn't risk it. Last year on RCCL we had an engine issue in the middle of the night and ended up not getting back to the port until 10:30.

No you will not make that flight. The ship docks at 8 . It takes awhile to disembark. The drive is about 30 min. if all goes well. You would be cutting it very close if you made it at all.

Way too many flaming hoops and pit falls - - -

Even if ship arrives at 7am and CBP clears the ship for 'Walk-Offs' at 8am

you catch a cab and go direct to the airport about 12 miles away arriving

at 9am - T minus 90 minutes.

Then what rules do you have to follow to check in with your airline ?

90 minute check-in you have already pushed the envelope - BUZZER sounds -

have baggage to check and pay fee more delay - BUZZER sounds -

and then the TSA gauntlet variable uncertain factors - BUZZER sounds -

check in boarding at your airline gate 30 minutes before departure maybe ?

Must be on board 15 minutes before departure ?

You have absolutely no room for error !

 

To the OP you made the right decision to book a later more comfortable flight

without the hassles of beating the clock (BUZZER) also avoiding the change

fees for change of reservation that you just missed by minutes !
