passport and soda questions

Just booked New Amsterdam. Wondering how they do the soda package?

Also, I'm taking my son and his woman, and they don't have passports. HAL tells me that since this is a closed "loop" cruise ( starting and ending in Ft Lauderdale, visiting Mexico ports) that they only need birth cert. and photo id.

I'm worried about this, can someone confirm this is ok?

thank you

Yes -- it is okay to use an official raised seal birth certificate and a driver's license for photo ID. But should something go wrong and they are in a foreign port, they will have problems getting back to the states.

Soda Card:

$50.00 Soda Card cost $25.00

The ships have now changed from giving you a can to just about 6 ounces of fountain soda.

Your soda card is charged $1.50 + 15% gratuity ($0.23) for a total of $1.73 for each “glass” of soda.

Without a soda card, you can buy a “can” of soda for $1.95 + 15% gratuity ($0.30) for a total of $2.25 per can.
