Embarkation was easy. We got to the pier at 11:40 and there were no lines. The porters were pleasant, and for the first time ever, our luggage arrived before muster. We kept moving until after we got our cruise cards, and then there was about a 20 minute wait until boarding started.

We went first to our cabin to drop everything off, and were in the MDR by 12:30. The salmon was delicious.

Formal night isn't necessarily formal any more. We dressed as requested, DH

in a white dinner jacket, but one man at our table had a short-sleeved striped polo shirt on. It didn't spoil our dinner at all, but he seemed to be uncomfortable with his choice.

Do try the new chocolate desserts if you like chocolate.

TV programming has changed. Kudos to Princess for running multiple programs from the Love Boat each day. Hisses for choosing not to make the NFL playoffs available in the cabins, as they made the regular games available there last fall. If you want to see them, you have to go to MUTS and risk skin cancer.

The weather was nice enough to sit out on the balcony.

Thank you so much for your report. I'm glad to hear embarkation went well after what happened with the porters deliberatly dropping a pallet of luggage on the previous embarkation of Star Princess.

We will try the new chocolate desserts, as you suggested. Enjoy your cruise!! :D

There were two lectures today - Tall ships and the rise of the British Empire and one on whales. I haven't noticed David Cole's name associated with any of the daytime activities, but there was a class in ukulele playing, and I believe he might have been associated with that on the Hawaii cruises.

Tonight was surf and turf, which is usually on formal night.

Very warm on the balcony this afternoon. Cabo tomorrow, but we've been there quite a few times so will probably take a " day at sea".
