So we booked the Embassy Suites for before and after our cruise. Now we are looking for some place to have dinner. We are kinda plain people(steak, chicken, maybe some sea food or pasta. What would you recommend that is in the area, short walk or taxi ride, that isn't crazy expensive. We did eat at the Cheesecake factory last time we were in Fort Lauderdale and would eat there again but if there are other choices that appeal to us than we would give them a shot.

Embassy Suites is great - managers happy hour and buffet breakfast. The last time i was there, i noticed while looking out window from hotel, an Out Back restaurant a block or two away. Ive been in other OB's and their product was good.

By the Embassy:

Duffys

Outback Steakhouse

Carabbas

Quarterdeck

Those are all really good. Other than The Tilted Kilt, the Cheesecake Factory is probably the only reasonably priced restaurant on Las Olas. The others range from high to very expensive. The Tilted Kilt however is really nice. The original Hooters founder Bob Brooks sons opened it so the food is really good.
