New to RCCL

Hi we just booked our first RCCL - we have been loyal Carnival cruisers. We are very excited and just did our check in online. I went to book some things and have some questions:

1) It says I cannot book any dinners online? Does that mean they are all booked already?

2) Is it required to book all the shows in order to go? What happens if we book one and then don't go?

We are in an oceanview.

Thanks!

You don't need advance reservations for any ships but Oasis/Allure. If you are traveling on them, then it's possible the reservations haven't opened yet. Call RCI, and do it on the phone, if the website isn't working (and it's notoriously glitchy)...

If you're on another ship, then no worries...you really don't need to preplan everything!

If you make show reservations, and don't show, your seats will be given to others. There's no charge for shows. If you have no reservations, there's a standby line for vacant seats.

If you don't show for a restaurant reservation (at a pay venue), you will be charged. You can cancel, if you decide in advance not to go.

You might not be able to book dinners yet. It will open up closer to departure.

If you miss one reserved show, they won't cancel your other tickets.

Get ready for BETTER BOATS than Carnival, but slightly more subdued crowd.

ah ok great ty! We are on the Oasis - very excited!!!

You should try to book all the shows you can on Oasis, especially the comedy show. The comedy venue is very small and you don't have a great chance of getting in if you don't have a reservation.

If you book a show and don't show up, it's no problem. There's a standby line they let into the venue about 10 minutes before the show starts, so your space will be available to others.
