Verizon Carnival E Cards and The Best PVP Ever

I decided to wait until after Christmas to buy my Carnival Gift Cards. Of course Verizon was sold out. I waited two weeks and was very happy to see they had more cards for purchase.

Unfortunately they were out of the 500 and 100 denominations. I had to buy 26 of the $50 cards to pay off my cruise.

And then I spent 30 minutes with the best PVP ever laughing, as I read her the 26 card numbers! I couldn't imagine spending that time with anyone else. Smooth, no problems, except when I lost my place a few times. I love my pvp.

In the end, balance due $0. Yippee, let the count down begin. I saved $170.00 and found out we have casino credit for $115!

Question about those ecards. I want to buy one of the $500 one through Verizon and use it for OBC. If for some reason we don't use all $500 will I get a refund when we leave the ship? I can't imagine we would have any left, but you never know. Between gratuities for the 4 of us, photos and cocktails, it adds up fast.

Your PVP is a saint :)

My PVP is a saint. I told her that I would call Carnival directly if she wanted me to do that. She said no. She had another call while we were on the phone, so I told her to help the other person and to call me back.

I figured if there were any problems, she would get it resolved.

I can't wait until I retire in a few years so she can fill me in on last minute deals!

I'm just curious, if you use a PVP you can't make an online payment? I always book and pay on the website so don't know...

My PVP, so far, has always handled the final payment call. She will also call me a few weeks before the cruise to make sure all is okay and if she can do anything else for me.

I appreciate the full customer service that she provides. I work for a software company and I'm on my computer and phone all day. It's a treat for me to have someone else provide the service and take care of my questions.

Is 500 gonna be enough? Grats for 4 for a week comes to 336, leaving you only 164 for photos and a bar tab. I have read that you get a refund check in the mail on another thread if you have any monies left over.

SOooo I have 174,840 points. I can use these to buy enough cards to pay off my cruise, and any left over I can use and put on my sign and sail card? I'm thinking about doing this!! Save me about $400 on cruise alone, and another couple hundred if I put money down on my sign and sale card for all that we usually spend.

I am planning on doing this next week on our Triumph cruise....should also help me "stick" to my gambling budget. :)

Ok, I am late to the party. Why is it better to use e cards from Verizon?

If you are signed up for their rewards program, you get 10% off on the purchase. A $500 egift card only costs you $450. But you get to use the full $500 on board (in the casino in my case) ;)

Has anyone bought them for friends so they can use them on their cabins or can you only use them for your own cabin?

I haven't redeemed on the ship yet, but I would have to assume they can be used by others (as in, bought as a gift, or whatever). I think they just need the codes from the print out to be entered in.

Been a Verizon customer for years but never heard of a rewards program until now. Is it Verizon wireless by chance? I looked and saw a Verizon rewards program that I signed up for today but I didn't see carnival as an option.

How long does it take for the e-Certificates to be emailed?

Every time I've gotten them, which is just about weekly, it was no more than 5 minutes after I ordered before the egift card shows up.

My brother knew nothing about the rewards program either and has been a Verizon wireless customer for a decade. He had 108,000 points just sitting there. Well not anymore. Lol

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm going to get some now.

Someone may have already answered you (I haven't read thru the entire thread yet). But yes, you can enter your cards online yourself without going thru the PVP. That's precisely what I did. Thankfully I was able to purchase the $500 ecards, so only had to enter 5, not 26!!

Don't buy the e certificates, buy the e cards. The certificates can only be redeemed towards the purchase of a cruise, while the e-cards can be applied to your sail and sign account. I bought 1400 worth and saved 140.
