malibudez Posted January 15, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Does anyone have any info on cab service to Jalouise beach? Approximately how far is it, and how much would it cost. Thanks Tim

reedprincess Posted January 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2015 Jalousie Beach is 1.5 hours from the port, and a land taxi is $90us each way, more if the driver waits for you while at the resort. See this post more info. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2139726
aimodels Posted January 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2015 For about the same money, Spencer Ambrose does a tour to Jalousie Beach by boat, which is a lot faster. Lunch and drinks are included. Cheers, P:)
PaigeCT Posted January 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2015 We just got back from our cruise and we used Real St. Lucia Tours to transport us from the ship to Sugar Beach (formerly known as Jalousie Beach), with some stops along the way. We made the arrangements with them a few weeks in advance. There were two of us, and we had our own driver with a nice, air conditioned car. Our driver, Hyginus, was fabulous as both a driver and tour guide, and he even watched our beach bag for us while we snorkeled. He picked us up outside the cruise terminal (past the shops and tourist info center and just outside the door) at 8:30. He went over all of the options for places we could check out, and explained how long each option would take. We drove toward Soufriere, stopping for photos along the way, and stopped for a mud bath at the volcano (skipped the tour to save time). The drive is long but very scenic, especially if you are not packed into a tour van with a bunch of other people. Our total beach time was around 2 hours, to allow for the drive back. If you add other stops or want to eat lunch at a restaurant in Soufriere, beach time will be shorter. Cost was $75 each for two of us (plus tip, well deserved). Great value, great way to really see the island at our own pace but with a guide the whole time. Our best day on the cruise for sure. And Sugar (Jalousie) Beach had the best snorkeling on our trip. Have fun!
Carol999 Posted January 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 27, 2015 It is really hilly and with winding tight winding, did I mention winding roads. We drove by a few bus's with people being car sick at the side. So, take a gravol for those that might have this as an issue. We can recommend Ian . He was really nice and his van was good. 758 715 4881 His email is :iantaxiservice@hotmailcom
