kribar Posted January 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Does anyone know of an inexpensive but decent hotel near the airport that would sleep 5? Possibly 2 kings (or queens) & a fold out. Or even order a cot?? Thanks so much!!!
kayehall Posted January 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2015 You don't mention your dates but there are many "suite" hotels in the area. Courtyard, Holiday Inn, Fairfield, Homewood, Springhill, Cambria......are a few. By looking at pictures, I see some of the suites only have a partial partition between the sleeping area and the livingroom area. My choice would be the Embassy Suites with 2 queens in the sleeping area. Roomy, nicely layed out, several different sink areas so if the bathroom is being used, someone else can still be brushing their teeth, etc. Comp 2 hour happy hour and comp breakfast. waterbugohio Posted January 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Also check out the Hyatt Place. Usually available on Value Trips at a good rate. (But just be warned, you make reservations via email and it sometimes takes up to two weeks for a reply) But its a great hotel, near the port. Walking distance to a couple restaurants and a liqour/wine store. We stayed with 5 adult women.
Marie51 Posted January 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2015 We stayed at the Doubletree Gallery One. The room had a bedroom with 2 double beds and a separate living room with a sofa bed. There also was a kitchenette. Also look at the Residence Inn. There is a new one near the Ft Lauderdale airport. They have a suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a sofa bed in the living room and a kitchen.

amcjeep4life Posted January 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2015 We booked Embassy Suites. $200. 2 double beds and a queen size sleeper couch. It also includes a manager's reception at night and an honest-to-goodness breakfast.
FlaGrl4Evr Posted January 21, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2015 (edited) We stayed at the Sleep Inn & Suites FLL airport prior to our cruise. It was a clean, modern, indoor corridor style hotel. 4 or 5 floors but with an elevator. All of the rooms are set up as suites so you will have two queen beds and a separate walled-off area that has a pull out sofa bed. There is also a mini-fridge and a microwave. The hotel was very clean and had a nice pool and hot tub area. They offered an airport courtesy shuttle plus a complimentary hot breakfast. There was a 24 hour Walgreens adjacent to the hotel plus a shopping center across the street that had a few restaurants. Italian, Chinese and Pancho's Mexican. If you show your room key at Pancho's Mexican Restaurant, you will receive 10% off of your bill. That was a nice perk and the savings paid for a Margarita or so. It fit all of our needs for one night pre-cruise and the rate was good, especially since I needed two rooms. I would not hesitate to stay there again. .
