I read that some people get on board discounts or deals....How do I hear about these offers?

As for onboard shopping, you will get a daily itinerary in your cabin, and there are often shopping,dining,spa specials listed in there.

Do you mean they are getting deals booking future cruises?

I've not found that to be the case on HAL. Often people find they get a better price from

their TA when they get home.

You can get onboard credit on a future cruise if booking onbaord carnival and royal caribbean,.

On HAL, you can purchase a Future Cruise Certificate. It allows you to book any cruise you want for the next four years and get all the benefits you would get if you booked specific cruise while aboard. If you do not use that certificate during the four years, the full amount is refunded to you.

Princess has a similar program. We love them. Never get off the ship without several of the Future Cruise Credits.
