Formal/Elegant night verification? Monday (Sea Day) & Friday (Grand Cayman 10-6)?

Any chance of saving the Funtimes and coping or scanning for me?

Thank You!

Yes this was correct and I will scan Fun times tomorrow

Thanks so much for doing this! We would love any information you could get on the Seuss at sea breakfast...should we sign up when we board? Where does sign up take place? Anything we should know about the ship?

We are going in March to the eastern caribbean and can't wait!

Seuss at Sea can be signed up for at the Excursions desk on the 3Rd floor and they will send the tickets to your room the night before. $5pp. You can sign up on board but they also said it normally doesn't sell out. But to be safe, you may want to do it ahead. Hope this helped. Other ship info coming tomorrow

Wondering about the spa. What is the pp or couple cost for a day or a week?

Also, if we do not buy anything, what areas of the spa are open to us as just plain passengers. For instance, can we use a spa hot tub, or steam room. I know we can use the gym and change/.showerrooms.

would love to know what movies are being shown out side and what that experience is like if you do it. Thx

The splendor charges to use certain things. A small sauna and shower/change area along with the gym are available to you as a passenger for free. Some other things are available for a fee.

Oh my, I'm glad I just came across your question for those of us who will be going on the Splendor, especially for the "first" time. We will be going April 12th.

I noticed someone had mentioned the name "taste bar." What is that, and is it free, or do we pay?

I am looking forward to you answering some of the peoples questions here, and I'm sure I will think of some to ask, once you start answering everyone on her that has ask questions. That is very nice that you are doing that for those of us who are not in the know.

Oh I just thought of something. If anyone else on here has been on the Splendor and on the Rivera deck, what deck number was that? I understand there are 13 decks on this ship, so I would like to have the # go with the name of the deck, if at all possible.

Why did you book the Splendor?

To be honest, because I got a CRAZY deal online for this cruise. We are first timers and just went for it. She was an amazing ship with an awesome crew and I am so glad this was our first experience. We look forward to many more!! We went to bed tired and left this morning very sad, giving hugs and connecting on Facebook.

The Taste bar is a small bar area next to the casino where you can taste samplings of various foods. The FunTimes tells you the times and what will be available, whether its Mexican, desserts, etc. It is free. The martini tastings are $17 pp and you get 4 samples.

We stayed on the Riviera and LOVED it. So quiet. There is nothing above or below except more rooms and there is no traffic in the hall other than other guests. We were in 1305 and even for an inside I was amazed at the space, we used one bunk and the 2 twins are converted to a King (let the steward know if you need this done).

A few tips after our amazing journey last week.

Take a sweatshirt or something for the evenings as well as for walking indoors. They can crank the AC and it gets COLD.

Take the shoe hanger for the bathroom door. It was a godsend for us.

Use the bathrobes, they are very nice and make good blankets for watching movies on the outdoor screen.

Take bug spray, Belize has a ton of mosquitos. SunBlock. We used ALOT of it and still came home burned. Be careful in the sun.

Have ones handy. We put singles under the plates for the staff to find as they cleaned.

We brought sodas on board. The bubbles program was good for the hubby but if you order soda from room service, you have to pay for it regardless, or leave the room to get it yourself.

If you want to leave extra tips, give the person cash. As I suspected, if you add it to the acct, even if requested to a specific person, it will NOT go to them, it gets dispursed as all other monies.

Go to the shopping seminar and buy the $25 coupon book. There are a ton of freebies in it. Fold the pages and take advantage. I came home with a ton of free swag.

The guest services desk will give you a free deck of playing cards.

Remember you must be present for ALL raffles. I won 2 because people didn't show up. They had to keep picking names and I won a watch and a painting.

The comedy club will have a line forming 20 minutes before show time. The theatre is poorly designed with a lot of seats that can't see the stage. Get there early if it matters to you. Also, bring your drink with you if you can. There are only 2 or 3 servers each show and one has to stay behind the bar. It can be quite a while before you see a drink.

Someone else posted this idea and I did it, worked awesome!! Order sandwiches from room service the night before and bring baggies, packing them to take with you to port. Food can be VERY expensive at port. I always booked excursions where lunch was included, but the sandwiches were good for beach day.

Faster to the Fun is AMAZING. We arrived at Miami and from dropping off the luggage (TIP THE PORTER), to stepping onto the ship, was maybe 15 minutes. Make sure you check in online, print all documents and fill out the health questionaire before arriving. First tender to ports (WOW!) and we were able to get off the ship and get our luggage before the masses were released, took about 10 minutes. So worth the $50.00. The separate line at Guest Services will save you alot of time, that line is long the entire cruise.

Shuttermom, thank you for letting me know what the "taste bar" is all about. Also about the Rivera deck rooms.:)

I am trying to make notes, and if you think of anything about the Splendor, one way or another (yes, I know this is your opinion), I would like to know.

Sorry, but this is a P.S. I forgot to mention that our room number is 1280, and it looks like it is fairly close to the elevators. I am so used to walking steps, but with this many decks, I may just walk so many floors.

I'm back, your going to get tired of me, but you are so HELPFUL with your answers.

A few more questions:

You mentioned the movie theatre. Then salt. It is popcorn salted, or are you suggesting that people salt it? I cannot have salt, that is why I ask.

I don't know which ports/islands you went to, but if you went to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, or St. Thomas, did you tender to any of them?

You mentioned about getting a coupon book for $25. What were you able to use these coupons for?

We just had snow yesterday, and FREEZING ICE, so this helps me get my mind off our weather right now. :)

Also got off the same cruise. If you have YTTD ask for Elmer. He is great and had a following. I don t know if they rotate the waiters, from set time and YTTD but if he is available , ask. Also go to the steakhouse cooking demonstration on the first Seaday. The samples are fantastic.

Hi,

Just wondering if the cooking demo is free or if there is a charge?

OP,

"Someone else posted this idea and I did it, worked awesome!! Order sandwiches from room service the night before and bring baggies, packing them to take with you to port. There is a restriction about taking food off the ship! You can take prepackaged food, such as nuts, chips, etc. This is so that you don't bring a new "bug" into the country. There are agricultural laws regarding this.

You could be detained or arrested. I have heard of reports of dogs sniffing bags when exiting a ship.
