Diva Onboard Posted January 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2015 We will arrive at the Canada Place Cruise Terminal in Vancouver. Does anyone know if there is good availability to get a taxi or limo at the cruise terminal for transportation to Vancouver International Airport? Thanks. Vancouver Cruiser Posted January 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Lots of taxis available at Canada Place. They will be all lined up as you pick up your luggage as you exit. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Does anyone know if there is good availability to get a taxi or limo at the cruise terminal for transportation to Vancouver International Airport? Thanks. Lots of taxis; Vancouver is a big city (Metro Vancouver is 2.5million). There's also a subway line from 3 blocks from Canada Place (Waterfront Station) to YVR, $4/ea. Generally as fast, if not faster than driving.
xlxo Posted January 26, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) I agree there's lots. However if multiple cruise ships arrive at the same time... there may be a significant wait.... @Diva: To clarify... which day are you arriving? Piperpals Posted January 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2015 A note that the taxis line up just up on the street outside the terminal wiating to get in. If you don't have loads of luggage you can walk up and grab one waiting on the street. Is much faster.
xlxo Posted January 31, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2015 The proper technique is to go to the Pan Pacific entrance or the Fairmont waterfront to get a cab. If you walk up to Howe street's staging area, it can create confusion because cabs are parked tight end to end. You will create delays for others by loading luggage and the cabs behind are unable to drive around. https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=49.28688,-123.113544&spn=0.00067,0.002798&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=49.286879,-123.113544&panoid=50ty4Us3MlEbCG1AEtIFiQ&cbp=11,63.14,,0,14.84 While the Howe street staging area is small. The city creates additional staging areas around downtown (eg Hastings) for cabs to be quickly deployed when multiple cruise ships are scheduled to be arriving at the same time. cpcanuck Posted February 9, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2015 Contact Time Limousine they are wonderful, and reasonably priced Taxi will be much cheaper - about $35-$40 one way Canada Place to YVR. Just checked Time Limo rate calculator - same route would cost $93+ for a Sedan (a van would be even more). I've had no difficulty getting a cab leaving Canada Place. Bruin Steve Posted February 9, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 9, 2015 Our cruise ends up in Vancouver on Friday, June 19--when we'll be the only cruise ship in port... Our flight home to LAX out of YVR is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Air Canada... I think we'll be relatively safe, no?

Urban trekker Posted February 10, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2015 According to Port Metro website there are three ships berthing at Canada Place on May 1, 2015. http://www.portmetrovancouver.com/about/cruiseandtourism/cruiselineschedules.aspx In addition to the two you name the Westerdamn is also here that day - I will be disembarking the Grand Princess and some friends will be disembarking the Westerdamn - so it could be busy. This will also put to a test some of the new improvements that have been taken to improve the security flow at Canada Place when three ships or more ships are berthed there. Cheers!
