Rare MicCanberra Posted January 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Hi all, I tried to find it in the FAQs but had no luck. Can you cash out any remaining OBC during or at the end of the cruise? Or does it just get credited back to your account? thanks in advance.:D
capnpugwash Posted January 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2015 Hi all,I tried to find it in the FAQs but had no luck. Can you cash out any remaining OBC during or at the end of the cruise? Or does it just get credited back to your account? thanks in advance.:D Sadly all unused OBC is lost at the end of a cruise, this is regardless of whether it is from Cunard, a travel agent or self purchased. Fortunately I know very few people who manage not to use all of it but I'm sure they will come out of the woodwork to respond.
balf Posted January 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2015 I've warned in the past about self bought OBC which Cunard are perfectly happy to confiscate if not spent. There could be circumstances where OBC is not all spent, illness could be one. So don't trust Cunard with your cash. Never buy OBC. David.
Bell Boy Posted January 30, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) I'm a bit confused here, why would anyone have any OBC left over ? isn't this the whole idea of a cruise/vacation to go out and enjoy our self ... e.g.; spend, spend, spend ( for our American cousins ...there was once an English lady who won several thousand pounds, her mantra was .."I'm gonna spend, spend, spend".....Ok, in the end she became bankrupt ;) However, I digress. Ok might be due to Illness or even far toooo much OBC offered (please put me onto your cruise agent ;) ) Don't let Cunard take back any unused OBC,there are lots of shops onboard to treat the other half or do what I do, Wine packages are always useful, and what you don't managed to consume you can alway take the unopened bottles home with you ;) Edited January 30, 2015 by Bell Boy
lannp Posted January 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2015 I keep track and make sure to spend it. Last year several tablemates were invited to lunch at Todd English. A couple of years ago a CC friend received a beautiful blue Cunard jacket.
balf Posted January 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 30, 2015 But really there is no need to buy OBC, keep it in a deposit account ( I know, cr.p rates but a bits better than nowt) Put it in the hands of Cunard for safe keeping, no I don't think so. Rare MicCanberra Posted January 30, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted January 30, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the replies.:D I take it you cannot take any of it as cash, say in the casino. Edited January 30, 2015 by MicCanberra
