Dairy allergy in other than MDR and lido buffet

I know then handle dairy allergy in the MDR, but I want to know what other options I have. We've not had much luck at the Lido buffet. I've always just guessed (and, thus been extremely limited - more salad and fruit anyone?) at other venues, but I would like to know where you found helpful and knowledgeable staff at other venues for dairy allergy.

We will be on the Dream, so there is a pasta bar, salad bar, promenade BBQ, Italian "restaurant," deli, pizzeria, Mongolian wok, ... TIA for any dairy free food information.

Are you actually allergic (hives, wheezing. etc) or just lactose intolerant?

I was wondering that myself, since I'm lactose intolerant and I've just learned, over the years, that unless I want to either have really bad gas and diarrhea (if I only consume a small amount) or throw up for an hour (only if I consume a lot), to just avoid milk, most cheese and ice cream altogether.

 

I know that some people do, however, have a true dairy allergy and that's supposed to be much, much worse.

I could have sworn seeing a post where someone said they were able to get lactose free milk all during their cruise. Maybe call the special concerns line or if that doesn't work, could lactaid pills help? They sell them at Target, walmart and you could pop one before eating something with dairy in it.
