Which pier in Honolulu?

We just returned from our cruise on POA

, and our cab driver said there is only one cruise port, pier 2.

I am sure many people will come on very quickly as say your cab driver was wrong, there is at least one other dock (#11) used for cruise ships.

The difference here may be "Terminal" vs "Pier". A visiting cruise ship (one not ending/starting a cruise) doesn't need a building for checkin, luggage collection, etc. It only needs a place to tie up, and move some vehicles around in. POA on the other hand, at Honolulu, needs a Terminal, as it is always ending/starting cruises there, with the associated checkin, security, baggage handling, etc.
