I am about to leave for my 23rd Norwegian cruise, for mean it is the staff. No matter which ship you choose to sail, that staff is outstanding.

We hope you have a great time. We are glad we were part of your 22nd on the Dawn, and are so happy we got to meet you. We just love Norwegian for making our cruise such a wonderful experience. Everyone is so nice on a Norwegian cruise, can't say that about Carnival our experience. You can tell that the staff of the Dawn really appreciate the cruisers and enjoy what they do. And I'm sure the same goes for all the Norwegian ships. Can't wait to do it all again soon. Thanks again for all your help and all the insight you gave us. We look forward to cruising with you again.

How's the food? I know food is a very subjective thing, everyone has different tastes, but in your opinion, is it just OK, or very good. Our last cruise on Oasis I thought the food was pretty good, but nothing that blew me out of the water. CCL is by far the best food at sea that we've ever experienced.

Just wondering how NCL stacks up in this area. One thing of note that I'm excited about is the hand scooped ice cream in the buffet! Sounds awesome!!:)

For me, thsisvaries. The food was awesome on the Dawn and the Gem, but the Sky was lacking a little bit. I am not at alla foodie, I just love food in general though. There is always something that I can eat:)

Thanks! We will go with an open mind, knowing its completely different than what we've tried in the past.

Thanks!

NCL, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: the marvelous staff and crew, setting my own schedule, dressing as I please, NCL knows how to leave solo passengers alone without making them feel ignored, swell entertainment, and colorful, fun decor without being silly or pedestrian.

I really like the fact that we can set our own schedule and not worry about hurrying back from port if we want to have dinner in the dining room. When we sailed cruiselines with set dining times we would miss standing by the railing while leaving port or cut our shopping time short. I know that other cruiselines are introducing this concept but I think NCL has perfected it.

I agree. Our first experience with anytime dining was on NCL and they a good job at it.

The crew. On our last cruise we went to La Cucina for dinner. The Matre'd stopped by and I asked him if he knew another Matre'd that worked for NCL named Wilson. I told them they looked alike and he gave me a big smile and told me it was his brother. We had a great conversation and look forward wo seeing both he and Wilson in the future.

The sjhips are all modern and fun and the fun is never over the top, insanely drunk college kids style. Haha.......well, maybe the Sky on the weekend cruises;).

We were braced for a typical "booze cruise" atmosphere - especially since we were sailing at New Year's. Instead, we barely saw anyone drinking, much less drunk (and we spend most of our free day-time on the pool deck). We were really pleased with the behavior of our fellow passengers. It was a far, far classier, more laid-back crowd than on our 3 day Carnival cruise years ago (which we did enjoy just fine).

What we did notice on the Sky was the casino... it was packed! But surprisingly not smoky.

I have to agree with Vyhanek and the best thing about NCL is the Haven.

I haven't been on many other ships, but I have been on many different categories on NCL. By far, the Haven is well worth the upgrade.

From being the first to embark, to the private dining room for Lunch and Breakfast, and the private sun deck and pool, it really is an indulgent vacation.

I live 30 minutes away from the NYC Cruise Terminal and about 38 minutes after I leave my house, I'm in the VIP lounge, all checked-in and relaxing. There is no crazy lines and it is tranquil and relaxing.

The only piece of advice I would give someone going on a NCL ship is that while the ship is "Freestyle" everyone seems to follow the same 'formula' of the day. Pool is EMPTY by 5:00 and everyone tries to jam into a place at 6:30 to get to a show at 8:00. It's CRAZY.

We have a big lunch and then a little nap and then at 5:00 we are enjoying the pool ALONE!!! A little room service at 7:30 or something from the buffet is nice, but then back to the Pool. We do the casino in the heat of the afternoon when there aren't that many people there.

Change up the schedule to best maximize your time.

I LOVE NCL and just booked my 6th cruise in the past 4 years. Hope you enjoy!!

And I think that Le Bistro is the best around. Best restaurant on board by far. The mushroom soup is the BEST. I have asked to have a second bowl. And they make a Rib Eye for two (32 oz) that would rival any steak house in NYC.

With that said, I think that the Main Dining Room was average. My cruise in 2014 was better than 2013/2012 in the MDR. I think it is getting better, but not AMAZING.

Plus, I think that the specialty restaurants are worth the money.

My cruise is 156 days away and I am totally getting excited talking about it!!!

Woot woot!!!
