MADflyer Posted February 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Carnival just aired a terrific multi-line 'return to the sea' commercial on the Super Bowl. They also have developed a website for the 'World's Leading Cruise Lines'. They have a test on the site as a tie-in to the ad where you can test your CRUISE-A-NALITY. The problem for a solo traveler is that you have to choose in step 2 from the categories who you will be traveling with. The choices are And I'll be cruising with... My sweetheart My family My grandkids My friends The extended family It's gonna be a big group So, a solo has to currently pick one of those categories to be included as a potential cruiser. They then recommend one or more of the lines they have that suit you. I know it is no big deal as a solo can choose a big group or friends, but still, you think they might have caught this as solo travel is a growing market how ever much they want to resist it. http://www.cruiseanality.com/ Edited February 2, 2015 by MADflyer

They're not resisting it, they're ignoring it. It may be a growing market, but it's still a small part of the market and they're doing well enough without trying to specifically attract the solo cruiser market.
