Ruby Princess E. Caribbean photo and video review

Agree... This is one of my most favourite places on the ship. We normally book deck 14 aft just to be steps from it. Plus bonuses - a BAR, close to food, and a smoking area! :D

Really enjoying Bimmer09 review. Thanks for taking the time to provide such great pictures and info. Glad to see the above post regarding Deck 14 aft cabins. We are booked on the March 21st Mexican Riviera cruise on the Ruby and have balcony cabin R730. We had sailed previously on the Sapphire Princess and enjoyed an Aft cabin on Deck 14 and were hoping that this location was as nice on the Ruby. The Aft Pool is great.

Those sunrise photos are great. I hope the sunsets are as beautiful in a few weeks when we do this itinerary on CB. I am much better at bidding the sun adieu than I am at greeting it with a warm welcome!

Too bad about the crew show. Billy Hygate's performances are rightfully renowned.

Great review.

Good to see you again I_r_a

(that combination of letters usually has different connotations for me, LOL)

Thanks and I'm glad you are following along as I try to steer this thing into Port.

A new face-welcome and thanks for commenting. That means a lot to me, otherwise I am talking to myself.

Aft dwellers are not idiots!! Deck 14 cabins have their own pool, a great view and the fantastic buffet within arm's reach. SO mice to take breakfast or even a cup of coffee out there by that quiet adult pool.

Glad you like the photos.

I'm not going to say there are 100s to follow-but there are.

Jimmy, I have sailed with Billy Highgate twice and managed not to see his "act" yet. Always in the wrong place....

However, I have heard him tell one joke-great timing. And I've heard him MC shows and seen him on the Wake Show and he is super-relaxed and comes across as a guy on top of his game and loving this job. He doesn't stumble or repeat himself while talking so he's not talking from a script.

Carol has seen him sing, dance and do comic schtick (If I was a Rich Man) and rates him very highly.

Hopefully I will sail with him again and make a point of seeing him perform.

I also like the fact that he doesn't wear a toupee or use a comb-over. His hair's going fast but he's ok with it.

Re sunrises- I can get by on very little sleep at night (but that catches up with me later in the day-hence the afternoon nap!)

Thanks for taking the time to post all those fabulous pictures and giving such a great review of your journey on the Ruby. I have booked an Alaska cruise in Sept and was wondering about this ship, but seeing all your photos have convinced me to stay with my decision and looking forward to it.

I'm still enjoying your amazing photos. We really did enjoy our time on the Ruby so, just as I expected, this review is bringing back some wonderful memories. I am also seeing some parts of the ship that I may have missed during our cruise. There always seems to be something that I just don't manage to see on each cruise or, as I prefer to call it, my excuse to book our next cruise! Not that I need much of an excuse to do that........ :D

After spending the past month sulking because my cruise was over I ventured back to the land of CC and discovered Bimmer09 was reviewing his latest cruise. Yeah!

I'm enjoying reading about your latest adventures. Thanks for taking the time to share [emoji4]

Still here and enjoying reading your review every day when I get home from work.

Our first of only two cruises (distance) was on the Ruby around five years ago so really enjoying "seeing" her again.

Thanks!:)

Don't you have another cruise planned?

Nancy, it's hard to see and enjoy all a ship has to offer (unless she's tiny like the Ocean). No Vines, food from the IC for me this trip. No Club Fusion, No gym no spa, no Crab Shack. There are rooms like the casino that I never use. No MUTS, no pool (didn't get wet all week)....the list goes on. I always say "next time".

And no- no excuses are needed to book another cruise!

Norris (Bimmer), just checking in to let you know that I am still floating along with you. A great review and pictures, as we've come to expect of you. Thanks for bringing us along.

Howard

Thanks for checking in Howard-your room is ready.

I'm sorry but we oversold your inside cabin.

Would you mind if we put you in a Suite??

Norris,

I'm still following your review. The pictures continue to be awesome.

I agree about sailing out of San Juan, wonderful. We did B2B in 2011 just before Princess pulled out of San Juan.

I mentioned the fact that we didn't visit Vines on this trip. I think we have only ever used it once. Buy a glass of wine and get complimentary tapas and sushi.

Deck 5.

I think Teresa Anderson (Princess Interiors Designer) has done a great job decorating Vines- nice and dark and atmospheric.

The Wine casks sticking out of the wall have the names of grapes on them but the sunlight coming through the window washed them out. Best to take photos here when it is dark outside (note to self)

I am really enjoying your review. Whenever I stumble across one of your reviews I have to follow. Your pictures and writing makes it seem as if I am right there with you. Right now that is all that I am getting. I would love to book another cruise but right now I am taking care of my elderly mom and can't get away for more than a couple of nights at a time. Thanks for taking me along with you.

Hi Norris,

Thank you for some warmth. I woke up to 3 degrees below zero this morning, and it currently feels like it's about 50 degrees in my office. I can't believe that you have been writing your review for weeks now, and I just started reading it today! Fortunately, as I sit here wearing my coat, I have been whisked away to a beautiful ship and sunny islands that have warmed my spirits if not my fingers.

So happy to hear that you and Carol have another European trip planned for September.

Thank you for taking us along, once again, on your voyages.

Best Regards,

Diane
