corkage fee

I understand there is a 15$ corkage fee per bottle of wine taken onboard. Although we buy wine for every dinner, we enjoy a glass or 2 with friends on our balcony prior dining. Anybody have experience with taking a 'box' of wine onboard and what was the applicable corkage fee?

Thank you

I emailed NCL customer service and confirmed that it was OK to bring a box onboard; I tried to pin them down on the corkage fee as being $15 for the box, but they would just say it is 15/bottle. My box was clearly marked as 2 bottles.

As it was, it passed through security and there was no fee at all. I would have surrendered it before paying 30; not worth it for the quality (though it was pretty good quite chilled on the balcony!)

So - take the box and hope for the best. (I did not press them in too fine detail because I'm sure if I said it is the equivalent of 2 bottles, they would have said 30. I think getting a 15 charge if it is found in your luggage is probably the most likely outcome.)
