Entered beach thru hole in fence?

A number of years ago we were in Costa Maya and I read on cruise critic about a beach that was with in site of the cruise ship, but we had to go thru a hole in the fence and walk around to get there. It was one of the best beach days we ever had. Fantastic service and the beach wasn't crowded. Is it still there? Anyone know what I am referring to?

The resort was destroyed by a hurricane years ago and is closed but you can still go through the hole in the fence to go to the beach.

Yes, it is still there. It's cha cha beach (or chi chi or cha chi or something like that).

If you go, and if you find the "hole in the fence" (may have bee repaired or covered up by new construction/owners), just be aware that there's absolutely nothing there. No one will come and serve you anything.

Thanks for the update on the "hole in the fence" beach. Have to find a new one..

We were at the Costa Maya port last week.

Something is going on with that area. There is a new building, the beach has new palm tree plantings and you could see blue chairs in the distance.

There has been a change since we were there in late 2013.

You could not see anyone, but the property and building have definitely improved.
