laurantwins Posted February 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I'm booked, have chosen my cabin (cove balcony) and have made my final payment. The current sale price would give me a $100 OBC - but it's a "carnival chooses your room" sale price. Question: If I submit the form, will I lose my Cove Balcony? Or would I get to keep it, since I'm already paid in full? Any advice would be appreciated! :) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
lobo55 Posted February 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2015 they put you in guarantee pool. I called carnival when I was in that position and that is what they said.
Sweet Dutch Girl Posted February 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I think the best thing to remember on early saver is that OBCs are given when you have an apple and they offer an apple for a lower price. If you have an apple and they offer an orange then no go. If you really want the orange you can pay the 50 buck change fee and then, in the future you have to match an orange to an orange. Savlamara Posted February 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Pick what's more important to you! The $100 obc or having a cove balcony? Cause if you submit that form your taking a risk by having Carnival choose your room for you and you might not end up in a cove at all. cruizinisthebest Posted February 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 If you switch, you will go into a general pool. You'll get a balcony but it could be any balcony or any deck. No guarantee of a Cove.

But in this case, they are not subject to the $50 change fee since it is on the same cruise.
MCC retired Posted February 6, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2015 You are giving up your ES cabin assign for a Balcony Guarantee + OBC. No penalty, no more rate changes and won't know what balcony category you will end up . We did this same thing on our recent Liberty cruise . Ended up with a several category balcony upgrade . Very pleased with the outcome.
