Continue to have fun on your cruise. I didn't plan my winter out very well this year! Not cruising til the end of April!! What's wrong with me!! HOPE131 Posted February 17, 2015 #454 Share Posted February 17, 2015 :) Okay, I think we are in business for pictures... We spent the day on Barefoot Beach in our Over the water Cabana - it was pure heaven. If you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. We shared the cost with the couple we are cruising with, so we didn't feel the full bite of the $250 fee :o We had a dedicated cabana attendant, and we didn't have to get up at all for drinks - I am quite sure I had one too many Labadoozies :p Guests of those staying in suites are welcome on Barefoot Beach - we were told otherwise last year on the Explorer. The buffet was upgraded (I think someone asked?) and the menu was steak, shrimp skewers, bbq ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, lots of salad and some nice desserts. HOPE131 Posted February 17, 2015 #455 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Thanks robyn for treating me to a wonderful back to back cruise as i am sailing on freedom next week and you've provided me with a wonder preview. Love, love, love cruising with you!!!!!
diland2000x Posted February 17, 2015 #456 Share Posted February 17, 2015 We didn't venture off Barefoot Beach, so all the photos I took are from the vantage point of the cabana. I laid in the sun all day, in the water, on my floaty mat :D I figure I need a good strong dose of vitamin D before I hit the cold next week. Let's not talk about cold, I still have 5 nights to enjoy this fabulous ship! Tonight is Drew Thomas's "Now You See It" Magic show. We have late seating so I will be at the 7PM show. I am really looking forward to seeing the show again - there is always something exciting about it each time :) FYI - if you make 3 or more specialty restaurant reservations, you can save up to 30%. Casino Royale has a happy hour between 5-7PM - you can save 25% on all house brand cocktails. Tonight's dinner in the MDR is ****ake. I keep checking to see if my pictures are uploading, but they are not :(:( I will try again later tonight. I will be back later to answer any questions you may have. Glad you are enjoying the cruise with me!! Robyn, Its been very exciting following you on your great vacation. Is there a link to your pictures on Photobucket? TomAceEsq Posted February 17, 2015 #458 Share Posted February 17, 2015 Thanks for your answers about the piano bar. Hopefully we can catch it at a more mellow time! In your (and everyone's) opinion, what is the most laid back bar/lounge on the ship? Would that end up being my balcony? Haha
truffles2 Posted February 18, 2015 #459 Share Posted February 18, 2015 ~snip~ Tonight's dinner in the MDR is ****ake. ~snip~ How hilarious that they bleeped out the mushroomy name of tonight's dinner:p
thebooth Posted February 18, 2015 #460 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Love your review! Any chance you can advise what night is Lobster night on the Western? Loving every bit, we sail on Freedom April 12 :D, and yes we're "sick of winter". Quick question, did you purchase on board credits on the ship, or through R.C? How did you do this, the difference in the money is hurting us Canadians for sure. Thanks Cathy

As of a few days ago, they were still charging only 10% conversion. Canadian Tyler Posted February 18, 2015 #464 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Really enjoying this review. I hear it's supposed to warm up here next week so don't worry! :) question about the obc, does it have to be tied to a specific booking or can you buy obc for any possible future cruises? What's wrong with me!!There's some room (outsides and insides) left on our Sunday cruise (2-22-2015). Shelton and Jack are cruising with us. See if you can sweet talk RCI into a deal. 2248 near the forward elevators. Our only caveat is making sure that we pass Daytona on Saturday around race time. Deputydawg304 Posted February 18, 2015 #468 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Sherri, we will be on the 3-29-15 sailing and very close to the cabin you will be in. This is our first time on FOS and would love to hear your thought/tips on staying in that part of the ship. Thanks :)

This is our first time on FOS and would love to hear your thought/tips on staying in that part of the ship. Thanks :)Are you referring to 9344. It is near the AFT elevators -- 2 floors up to WJ (and main pool) and elevators and stairs down to dining rooms. Very stable area. We have stayed in cabins all around the aft elevators on FR and MA. If I can't book this area initially, I will keep checking availability to get a cabin in this area. Lately have preferred starboard cabins for the routes FR does. I spend a lot of time on the balcony. We will be a bit too far down the waterway to enjoy the sendoffs from the restaurants but still will enjoy the sailaway. Hi Sherri :) Yes we are in Falmouth tomorrow, with an expected arrival time of 10:00AM. I don't think the fixipod is "fixed" - there is vibration on the aft.....however we are making our ports on time. I was just out on the balcony and we are motoring along, not limping :D
ckrobyn Posted February 18, 2015 Author #472 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Hi everyone :) Thanks for the great comments - I am really enjoying Live reporting....this could be habit forming :o I just got back to the cabin a few minutes ago, we had a busy night. That is so funny CC bleeped out the "sh**take" mushroom menu in the MDR, LOL! Anyways, it is not one of my favorite menus, but the gyoza dumplings were pretty good. After dinner I saw "Now You See It" by Drew Thomas Magic and it was spectacular. Drew is planning some really neat things in the future, be sure to attend his show when you are on the Freedom! Photobucket is cooperating - Quick! Here are some more pictures from today!!!
ckrobyn Posted February 18, 2015 Author #473 Share Posted February 18, 2015 Tonight was also the Battle of the Sexes Game Show - it was hysterically funny! I guess it all depends on audience participation, and we must have been a pretty great audience! :p I was invited to a cocktail party for suite guests hosted by the Captain and the Hotel Director this evening, but I didn't go......I also have the opportunity to choose a behind the scenes tour of the Bridge, Galley or Theatre.....but I've been there and done that, so I will skip it this time. As well, because I am over 350 cruise points I can have a meal with an officer - I am skipping that too  Here is another Labadee picture
ckrobyn Posted February 18, 2015 Author #474 Share Posted February 18, 2015 And one more for today.... The weather forecast for Falmouth, Jamaica tomorrow is 86 and sunny. Life is rough in the Caribbean :D
ckrobyn Posted February 18, 2015 Author #475 Share Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) If you have a chance, check out Drew Thomas Magic on FB :D He does a panoramic video of the audience at each show, and you can tag yourself in the picture if you were there, or if you are planning to attend! I'm a huge fan as you can see :o Edited February 18, 2015 by ckrobyn
