Port Canaveral as a Port of Call

We are cruising the Norwegian Gem out of New York this June and one of our stops is at Port Canaveral. We're not lay out on the beach types and don't really want to spring $150+ each for what would probably end up being 7 or so hours at Disney. We're thinking Kennedy Space Center but booking it on our own as the tickets are twice as much through NCL. Any other ideas?

the adult course is not kiddie zip-lines ... and adventure course that some use as their "gym time" with an annual pass, expect to spend a couple of hours . . . http://www.treetoptrek.com/
