Rare ghstudio Posted February 18, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I can buy dinner on line before the cruise for $29 (pinnacle Grill) or $10 at Canelleto (ryndam). Is the price the same on board? Is an evening at LeCirque worth $49...whatever it is?

There's a bundled specialty restaurant package you can buy that carries a slight discount, but you can't make your reservation dates and times. We forgo the bundle's savings in order to to choose our own reservation times.
HealthyTouch101 Posted February 18, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2015 The Le Cirque experience is it's own. here you can read about it and decide for yourself: http://www.hollandamerica.com/pageByName/Simple.action?requestPage=LeCirque We enjoyed Pinnacle Grill, but don't need to do that very often, as we aren't big steak eaters and we like the MDR. We did book Tamarind for our next cruise. We love those kinds of foods.
cruz chic Posted February 18, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2015 I found Le Cirque to be fine but I prefer the regular pinnacle. I'm not big on "fancy" food. Give me the tamarind any day.
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 18, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2015 We also prefer to book the days and times we want to dine in the specialty restaurants so we don't buy the "bundle" package just to save a few dollars. There are no discounts for any of the specialty restaurants once you get on the ship. The only people who get discounts are the 3 star Mariners -- 25% off and the 4 and 5 star Mariners get 50% off. Le Cirque -- we feel it is worth the $49 per person. JMO
canuckgardener Posted February 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2015 If you book the Le Cirque you will be offered the date and time as it is a special event that is not every night. If you are considering the Le Cirque, I would recommend that you book it online prior to your cruise.
PathfinderEss Posted February 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2015 If your on a 7 day cruise, Le Cirque will only be offered once during that cruise. I think it is worth it, but only you will know if it is to you.
Rare POA1 Posted February 18, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2015 We absolutely love Le Cirque, and did it two out of thee weeks at the end of last year. Here are two sets of photographs from dinner at Le Cirque. The first was when we dined there with Cruz Chic in November. The second was from December when we dined with DFIL. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s88/sh/b0b0335b-9774-4c8f-a1a9-08612cbe47b5/4abecd37eddc920cf88f77c22c4fe664 https://www.evernote.com/shard/s88/sh/3761e63a-e1f7-425a-ba15-3eb59782032d/e1a0d394daeae93aecad98ac34732a6d There have been some slight changes to the menu since we last ate there. (It changed the following week.) Roger (Crew News) scanned the new version and you can get it from his website here: http://www.rogerjett-photography.com/here/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Le-Cirque-start-12-11-14.pdf My advice would be to read the menu to see if it appeals to you. It's more of a foody experience than the regular Pinnacle Grill menu. They're both good, so it depends on what you like.
take us away Posted February 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2015 Le Cirgue is definitely unique but if you do not drink, it is a bit too expensive, IMO. A few times we have seen the specialty dinners in the Pinnacle offered with and without wine pairings at 2 prices. Wish there were more...
