elisamarie Posted February 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I searched for this but didn't find an answer since 2010. We used Victor Bodden tours last time we were in Roatan and loved them, but it was a crappy/rainy day and I would have rather not paid the $100 for our tour and stayed on the ship. We have been to Roatan a few times. On past cruises, we have always docked in Coxen Hole and now on Carnival, we are docking at Mahogany Bay. Will Victor have a kiosk where we can get a tour on the pier rather than booking in advance. Depending on our mood, we may just want to go to the beach and veg and can take a taxi or we may want to do the Iguana Farm and tour some before the beach. Has anyone just asked when you get off the ship at Victor's kiosk for a tour? We don't want one of the "formal" tours but more of a play it by ear, ask the driver where we should go on that day. Thanks.
Rare mitsugirly Posted February 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2015 Since Victor is a private vendor, I doubt that he would be allowed right there as you exit the Carnival compound. Mahogany Bay is a lot different than at Coxenhole. At Coxen..you just simply walk out of the terminal gates. At Mahogany you have to walk out and up and over this huge hill to find the vendors. I know there were a bunch at the bottom holding signs, but couldn't confirm if any were from Victors excursion. You could probably email them direct and ask them where the meeting spot is and if they talk walk ups.

dkoitz Posted February 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2015 We've been 3 times with Victor Bodden tours and you have to walk outside the port, up a hill and all the taxi drivers are there. You just tell them your looking for Victor Bodden tours and everyone seems to know everyone else, and they will point you to the right car. They can drop you back off INSIDE the port once your tour is finished, but you have to leave and start the day from outside the port.
ano Posted March 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 5, 2015 Find out as much information in advance. Yes, everyone knows each other there, but everyone is also VERY eager for your business. They ALL will say they are the tour your looking for, so make sure they really are who your looking for. Also, make sure to read the State Department warnings on Roatan. Even people on tours with good tour companies have been stopped and robbed and/or killed. Honduras has the highest murder rate in the Caribbean. And many murders are never solved. Google "cruise, murder, Roatan" for an idea.
