Early Saver Constant Price Protection Denials?

I've booked every single one of my cruises as Early Saver cruises once they came out with the program with the exception of 1 cruise. In the past if it was before final payment I'd call my PVP and he'd take care of it. After final payment I'd complete the form and submit it. In the past year they've made it so we have to submit the form after booking and the pvp wasn't supposed to do it.

I downloaded Chrome because none of my browsers would let me submit the form myself. On my last 4 requests for price drops on various sailings I've been denied. Resubmitting did not help. I had to call the number on the denial email and explain my current booking and they were able to take care of it. One of those calls was over an hour before it was taken care of.

Submitted a price drop last night knowing it was going to kick back as denied today and sure enough it was. Called the number on the email and the person who answered walked me though each step of completing the form again. She gave me actual booking codes which would make whoever processed it aware that I had help with the form. She said I should have no issues. Sure enough they rejected my claim again. She told me to call her tomorrow and she'd do it herself if there were any issues.

My question is why is this happening over and over again? Friends of ours are in the cabin next us to us theirs went right through with no issues. The person I spoke to today gave me the exact amount the price drop was and it's the same as what they received.

I booked while on another cruise they did not. We are paid in full and I'm not sure if they are. Does paying in full in advance make it harder for Carnival to see that we paid more than the current price? Is booking while on board messing up what they are comprehending on their end?

I'm not sure why I bother using a PVP or transferring my booking to him if he's not able to help with price drops? Anyone else getting denied each time they submit a price drop request?

I had the same problem today. Called Carnival and the gentleman I spoke with was able to fix it. Don't understand why this is happening though. I didn't give him any different info than I put on my price protection form. Funny thing though, when I told him I found the fare on Carnival Fare Viewer he thought this was a non-Carnival site.

ES is a big pain in the u know what. If Carnival had any scruples ES should be automatic. It's a full time job watching for price reductions. We just book last minute now and have gotten better price than the ES because ES doesn't match Pack n Go

I thought when you paid in full the difference was applied to your card you used, but I'm not sure why your claims are being denied.

I believe with ES, price drops after paid in full are added to your record as OBC, not returned to the card you paid with. Before final payment price drops are given by using the new p/p cost on your booking and that will reduce the amount remaining to be paid. AT LEAST that is how it has worked for me every time I have gotten a price drop.

Same here! Never had a problem with ES if a denial was issued (only once) I called and they corrected. Last cruise I had a 790.00 OBC.

If you have paid in full but your actual final payment date has not passed then a refund is issued to your credit card. I am waiting on such a refund and it takes 7-10 business days so watch your CC account. If there are more price drops AFTER the final payment date has passed you will then get the OBC.

I've had an automatic denial response for everytime I was matching to the "Casino Offer" So, literally, I've had to just call Carnival 8 different times to have them adjust it for me. I've gotten inconsistent answers as to why I am getting this denial, when my price is lower, but the most consistent one is that they the ES system doesn't recognize the Casino Offer. With that said, I would just advice you to be persistent with calling Carnival and finding a rep who will help get your rate adjusted.

Well I can see my situation isn't isolated and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Normally if you haven't paid in full they reduce the amount you owe however since we have paid in full we've always received OBC which is fine with me. I was curious as to wether paying in full was the issue or booking while on board might be the issue.

However now I'm curious as to wether this is something being done to avod adjusting prices. ES was never such a hassle as it has been lately. It's a pain to keep calling bit for this amount of money it's worth it!

In my experience, if I am paid in full and the price drops before the final payment due date, it is given as OBC. They have not given me a credit back to the card I used for payment. We are currently up to $180 in OBC for our May cruise, and all of it was put on there before the final payment date.

I have two cabins, two booking numbers for upcoming vista cruise. Submitted early saver form for same rate (different categories) one approved within minutes, one denied. Resubmitted denial...denied again. Had to email directly early saver @ carnival email and it was applied. Who knows why one worked and one didn't.

I keep getting denied because "the rate you are trying to match is higher than what you paid". Which it clearly wasn't. I just email my PVP and she was able to fix it right away.

On my previous ES bookings, all I had to do was complete the form and it was approved and applied to my account. Never had any trouble before my current booking.

I am going on my first cruise ever & I booked Early Saver on Victory and paid in full when I booked. I didn't even know about a form that was supposed to be filled out to receive an incentive for a price drop. I called Carnival & they gave me OBC over the phone. They never even mentioned my needing to fill out a form.

This. ^

I couldn't agree more. And most of Carnival's best prices these days are for guarantee cabins that they won't price match to. It is more trouble than it's worth IMO.

And yes, the last couple of times I booked early saver, price drop requests made online were denied almost automatically when I submitted them. And then you have to call and get it straightened out. Aggravating.

I still believe that Carnival has some people set up as "always reject no matter what" people. I'm also on the "always reject" list. No matter the case, I get rejected. I have to call to get it taken care of. I have submitted the form on behalf of friends booked in another room, and sure enough, accepted. I submit the form for my room in the same category on the same sailing, and sure enough, rejected. I now know to not put my name as the one who is sending it in. If I put the roommates name on there, no problem. Ever since I got down to a $149 rate on a 5-day cruise in 2009, I seem to have been placed on the "always reject" list, starting with the request for that $149 rate.

I agree with the others who say that the request form is ridiculous. We should be able to call & get it taken care of. No reason to add the trouble for us & them by using this form.
