bajathree Posted February 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) There is a technical issue just announced on Quantum that has currently shut down 4 of the restaurants.....some AC issue. Just came back from the CL and there is no AC in there running...the CL is like 90 degrees. They are hoping that they will have it fixed this evening. Going to be major dining disaster tonight...Captain referring people to use Windjammer. Edited February 26, 2015 by bajathree

Overtyme Posted February 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2015 I'd call that a silver lining! Until every bar becomes overcrowded. Hope there's some relief in sight (and that everyone is wearing deodorant :D)! Is AC working in all of the cabins? Sounds like a good opportunity to cool off in the pools! Ken at the beach Posted February 27, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) The free drinks is a nice jesture but what does that do for all those with drink packages whose drinks were already free. Hope this gets resolved soon. Edited February 27, 2015 by Ourusualbeach

jpe87 Posted February 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 27, 2015 The captain announced that Silk and the Grande would begin dinner service for those with reservations from 9:00pm and on. Chic and American Icon would not open tonight.

toad455 Posted February 27, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 27, 2015 I would have said to hell with it and just went to the Windjammer for dinner with my free drink(s). who really wants to eat dinner after 9pm.
bajathree Posted February 27, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Well looks like things are back to normal today:) I had 8:30 dinner reservations at Jamie's last night...one of the restaurants not effected. Thought it was going to be crazy packed...showed up a half hour early and was seated in 5 minutes time...WITH MY about #3 free drink:D...dinner went perfect and surprisingly they had empty tables sitting open by 9:30. I guess the free drinks worked and kept everyone at the bars happy. No cabins that I was aware of didn't have air....think it may have been mostly just the restaurants that closed...walking around the ship all seemed pretty normal with all shows running as normal. The CL has air restored and looks like another gorgeous day at sea:cool:
MLK2000 Posted February 27, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 27, 2015 Things are back to normal this morning. But last night thousands could not get dinner at 4 restaurants. The Windjammer buffet was overwhelmed. They say it was a "technical" issue, air conditioning but no one is definitely telling us what happened. The captain did make announcements as to the status of the restaurants reopening. Free drinks in all bars were offered until 10:00pm.
bajathree Posted February 28, 2015 Author #15 Share Posted February 28, 2015 Just received a letter in my cabin last night saying we will receive a future cruise certificate in the value of 10% of the fare paid for current cruise...good for 1 year. Angelsea57 Posted February 28, 2015 #22 Share Posted February 28, 2015 I feel bad for everyone that has had to go through all of the glitches of a new ship. I hope they all got compensated for all their troubles. All I can say is, we are paying top dollars to cruise Quantum and we should have the best. Hoping all the glitches are taking care off by the time our cruise comes up in April.

Deck 10, D7--cabin 10650 (hump type). I can tell it was so creaky that it woke us up. Plus, there were some misc. noises whenever I closed the balcony sliding door that I could not place. Plus, there were some misc. noises whenever I closed the balcony sliding door that I could not place. The snap, crackle, pop sound?:). I spent over an hour trying to locate and silence the source of that particular noise. Definitely coming from the door and or frame but the only thing I found that silenced it was cracking the door a bit which of course turned the ac off. The cabin steward claimed it was because the ship was new but I have no plans to go back to find out whether he was right or not.
