marazul Posted February 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) We will be in aix on July 4 th which is a Saturday. What are the hours of the street/flea markets. We will not arrive until noon and only have a few hours. The Grand Marche, at various places in town, is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm The flower market is opposite the Town Hall (Mairie) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 12:30. Other days, it is held on the Place des Prêcheurs at the same times. But there is a food market every day on the Place Richelme. Throughout France, markets are open only until about 1 pm. Market days are different days in different towns. There may be a few exceptions that stay open longer. AngloinProvence Posted March 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2015 Whenever I've been in Aix, the food markets were folding around noon... they may be around a little longer in summer, though these things are regulated and the street cleaners move in quite sharply. We think its the norm with most of the markets in Provence. The prime hours seem to be from about 9-12. At noon, some of the vendors start to pack-up and by 1 just about everything is closed. One exception is the huge Sunday market at L'Isle sur la Sorgue where most of the vendors do seem to operate until nearly 1 and the antigue/flea market vendors seem to stay as long as business is good.
