Does Canada have the 6 month passport requirement?

So I'm trying to find out if Canada is one of those countries that requires your passport to valid up to 6 months past your travel time frame. From what I've googled it doesn't. The cruise line didn't know and the airlines said from what they can tell it doesn't. I want hard concrete info on this since my kids (teens) passports expire the month after we travel. Which normally wouldn't be a big deal but I have been reading about how there are countries that have that 6 month requirement. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks so much!

I'm in the same situation for my DS April trip. I read some posts that the cruise personalizer would not let you enter the date if it was too close (I did not try it myself).

Anyway my DS is traveling in both April and August so I'm just biting the bullet, paying the expedite fee and renewing now.
