Tampa ship to airport transfers

We are sailing on the Ryndam in a couple of weeks. Since we'll be there a few days early to visit friends we did not opt for transfers. But on the return we need to get to the Tampa airport. HAL bus transfers we have used in the past were not very good. How difficult/expensive is it to get a cab from the ship to the airport?

 

Most of our recent cruises were out of Ft Lauderdale and taxis were cheaper and abundant. While HAL buses were slow and more expensive.

 

Also, in Ft Lauderdale we always got their Luggage Direct service. Is that offered in Tampa?

If there are two or more of you, take a taxi. It is far more convenient and you likely won't pay very much different for taxi vs two (or more) HAL transfers. We sailed from/to Tampa at least 3 times and never had a problem getting a taxi at the port.

Thanks much. Sounds a lot like Ft Lauderdale.

 

Have you ever used their Luggage Direct service and do you know if it's available in Tampa? Worth every penny paid.

We recently sailed on the Ryndam out of Tampa, returned Feb. 8th. We took a taxi from the cruise port to the air port. The fare is a flat $25.00 and there are a number of taxi's waiting when you get off the ship.
