Rare crewsweeper Posted March 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Budget is about a 1/2 mile away. Most of the other rental agencies, including National are about a mile to mile 1/2 straight down A1A.
chrislo Posted March 10, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted March 10, 2015 Thank you. Hertz is almost 3x the rate I have for National so we might just take a taxi back from the car rental place.
JohninDC Posted March 10, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2015 They all offer free shuttles to/from the port - unless you are dropping after hours - so go with the best deal you can find.

No need to drop the car off upon arrival at whichever hotel you finally book. Just head out early the next morning, depending on the time the agency opens, drop the car off and then, like JohninDC says, let the agency shuttle you to your ship. chrislo Posted March 10, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted March 10, 2015 I thought I read here that the rental companies delay taking you to the port until the get the ok from the cruise lines. We wanted to avoid that as my husband likes to board ASAP (we have FTTF). If I misread then we will use the shuttle. Thanks again for everyones help. Call the agency direct and find out what time their shuttles leave. I know some of the hotel shuttles have been delaying their times as well as a couple of the offsite parking venues. But then I've heard of passengers catching 10 AM shuttles in the last 2 weeks. A Taxi won't be that expensive from the rental agency as you're only going a couple or three miles tops.
