Aft cabin afficiando's speak up

We booked a cabin on HAL up near the bow, and couldn't sleep at night due to the noise of the waves crashing into the ship. Thought we were running into whales or something on the first night and called guest services to lodge our concern. They sent an Engineering officer to our cabin at 2 AM to check it out. They offered to move our cabin the next day, and offered several choices. We wound up with an aft facing balcony. We loved it except for the soot and ashes from the smokers on decks above. Since that trip, we have settled on a balcony just before the rear corner on the port side of the ships. Love it there, quiet, good views, no soot, and convenient to the main dining rooms. The aft elevators on most ships are least used also. Just us, but we like it there.:D

Have you ever had an aft balcony cabin on the Emerald or Dolphin decks on the Royal/Regal? I was curious if there would be some noise from the Vista Lounge, like what sometimes occurs above Club Fusion on the Princess Grand class ships.

Not at all however we always are on Caribe deck. Quiet and the vibration is not as bad as some might say imho
