I am freaking out a bit. We have an 11:30am flight out of FLL but we do not have FTTF.

my personal opinion, thats pushing it !

are you using the ships shuttles? we had to wait for 2, before the could fit us in

you have to wait to leave the ship based on what floor your on, if you handle your own luggage, or if you chose to leave your bags out the night before, you exit via zone numbers, ours was zone 32, which was 1130am

also, then you have to pass though customs at the ships port, at 1130 the line was about 1000 people long.

then we had to wait for 2 shuttle busses, then the ride to the airport, then check-in, then security again...

my suggestion, use self assist luggage option, grab a cab, and hope for the best

I sailed Freedom from Fort Lauderdale; I'm guessing it was the same terminal since Conquest replaced Freedom. I had a 1:00 flight and was originally given group 22 for my luggage. I went to the customer service desk and was able to get group 2 after self-disembark. Things quickly fell behind but I thought I would be fine based on my experience with customs on 11 previous cruises. When I got off the ship, I got my luggage immediately and then hit the wall - the longest customs line I have ever encountered by far and only two agents working. When I finally got through, I got a cab immediately (no time for a shuttle) and got to the airport. Another line at check-in. Nowhere near as bad and airport personnel were moving people based upon flight time.

I was in the second group that had checked luggage and I got to my terminal at 12:10. If I had remained in my original assignment, I would not have made my flight.

Your experience may be different, but I would self-disembark and taxi to be safe.

We've booked at 11 am flight out in a few prior cruises and didn't have any issues. Self disembark & your off quickly, grab a taxi. This works as long as there are no delays. I wouldn't hesitate to book a flight at 11:30am. Sure beats waiting around all day.

Yes, the airport is very close to the port. But just because "everyone" seems to book early flights and have no problem doesn't mean that will always be the case. It's a very busy port and a very busy airport when lots of ships are arriving on the same morning.

It amazes me that people come back from a Carnival cruise and comment that the food places were hardly ever open. I've never, ever had any problem find (more than enough) food at any time of the day.

And for those who don't know, the little tear-off part of the FunTimes lists the hours the venues are open daily.

The only surprise I ever had was on my last sea day on Conquest (San Juan-Miami repo November 2013). I had planned on having my last Fish & Chips but they closed an hour earlier than they had the rest of the week. So I simply had another Guy's Burger instead. See, I didn't go hungry!

Now, for my question - do you know who the casino host/hostess is? Elina was there on my other Conquest cruise (tall, thin blonde) and I'm hoping she's still on the ship, although I doubt it. She was so sweet.

We had a 11:30 flight, used luggage express and were at the airport by 10am. Our debark tag was just after all the self debark. The line for customs was long 45 minutes to get through. Took a cab to the airport for the 2 of us. $15. The nice thing about luggage express is that you go straight to security no check-in required.

was luggage express the $25.00 per bag option?
