Hello Everyone - I'm going to do a live review from the Summit.

Just quick background - It's my wife, myself and our 20 month old son. Also in our party is my folks.

We have a standard ocean view on Deck 6 - they have Celebrity Suite also on Deck 6

As you can from my signature I've been on a number of different cruises / lines over the years.

We flew in Saturday - and used Puerto Rico Shuttle to get the port.

Getting on the ship took about 15-20 (at 1pm) and we were able to get right to our cabin. We had our luggage by around 3:30.

I am happy to report that they have an unlimited internet for $299 - which is great considering I do web development.

==============

Both Cabins are nice - The celebrity suite is VERY large - and very reasonable price (as compared to Oceania or Regent)

==============

One thing I will address is having a little one on board as I know many people have commented about that.

No one so far as said ANYTHING to us and if anything they (staff and passengers) have all been very welcoming.

At dinner last night...little one was tired from day of travel and VERY fussy (not wanting to behave)....so I left MDR and took him to buffet where he was fine and happy and ate. After that I went back down to MDR and he was fine....i just didn't want to disturb others.

Today we have the CC get together in a little bit and plan on having a nice day at sea.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Philip

I love live reports and will be following along with you. :D Enjoy your cruise.

I want to commend you for taking your little one out of the MDR...that was very courteous of you. We had one cruise where a small child cried every night in the MDR and the parents did nothing. Needless to say, it wasn't very pleasant while she was in there. I'm guessing she was about 18 months. It was quite obvious she was one tired baby.

That's one reason why we do Late Seating Dining -- small ones are gone and in bed. :)

How was the Buffet on Summit. As I recall from last year while up there for sushi snacks that they had several carving stations, and not just trays to spoon out food yourself.

The buffet is nice. No trays that I've seen. While most is self server there seems to by an attendant at most stations to help you.

I did notice the plates seemed small perhaps to help you not take as much.

One thing I noticed different from other ships we've been on is that there weren't as many people to come around asking for iced tea or soda. Not a big deal there are plenty of stations. Just an observation.

Looking forward to more of your live report as we have booked this cruise.

Not intending to be a killjoy, but would just comment that your decision to take a young one a such a trip has to be so balanced between your wish for enjoyment and respect for other peoples vacations.

We all love the little ones, but restaurants and dining rooms are not on in the evenings - having been through it with ours and now grandchildren.

It's difficult for many years, but it comes down to going to places that the other diners are in the same situation, and respecting those who are not - and there are many available options.

Look forward to reading the rest of your live report.

Question. Did you happen to notice if there was any place to watch the NCAA tournament basketball games last night? My alma mater (NC State) is still alive, so I might be looking for a place to watch a game on the Summit next weekend. Thanks.

I believe they may have had it on in the casino...not 100% sure though

They don't normally do that on Celebrity.

We are just a few weeks off the Summit, it's our favorite ship, great crew. There are small trays as you enter the Oceanview. They are idead center at the start of the buffet, easy to miss. One thing we tried and did a lot this past cruise was to eat breakfast by the pool grill. They make custom eggs and there is never a long line. It was a great way to start our morning outdoors. I would grab a tray,at Oceanview, get some fruit, juice coffee/tea and then go order my eggs at the grill.

Thanks for your review. I love the Summit. I've never seen anyone say anything to a child or their parents, most love the little ones. Can't wait to read more.

BTW, when I was on the Summit in January, they had some small trays available in the buffet.

That is interesting about the trays since they had them (although very small) on the 3/14/15 sailing.

Kteacher - The CS is very spacious - Has a table for 4 - a large couch and easy chair in the main area.

A walkin closet / makeup area, a nice sized bedroom and a large bath with jacuzzi tub.

-------------------

They do have trays in the buffet - just hadn't noticed them the first day.

-------------------

Last night (Sunday) was the formal night....I would other than my father and myself...I didn't see anyone else in tuxedos....some where in suits...most were in at least a shirt and tie....but some were very casual.

---------------------

Today we are in Bridgetown, Barbados - We didn't sign up for any shore excursions given the little one. When you get off the ship it is a little bit of walk to the "shops" at the pier. - They are running a shuttle so you don't have to walk.

To get into town it is about a 15-20 minute walk - although based on what we saw there isn't much to do in town.

It was nice taking stroll along the water though.

---------------------

One thing that has been helpful is that we brought a fabric shower curtain & magnetic hooks (thank you to the family message board) which we put around the pack-n-play at nap time and night.

---------------------

For those wondering the internet speed is about 3MB on the down and 0.5 MB on the up.

Today we are in St Lucia - and it is raining....there are a couple shops right where the ship docks...but again not much to do right at the dock...more of the same t-shirts / duty free shops

-------------

On thing that I know has come up from time to time....is they do have escargot every night

--------------

Saw the iMagic show last night which was enjoyable

--------------

I've been very pleased with everything

I got a little behind on the posts.... we had a really nice time ...we determined after about 12-15 Caribbean cruises we are going to do touring cruises in other areas of the world.

I have the dailies which I will scan in as I have time this week.
