We have booked an equinox cruise that included the drinks and tips promo ( via UK website) is it possible to upgrade our cabin to a better grade and still keep the promo, since with the promo not now available the prices have dropped , making an upgrade quite attractive option

The easiest way to find out is to call them and ask. With the prices having dropped and no promo in place, I suspect it may be problematic. In the US, IIRC, the new cabin (higher category, has to be higher price than the original cabin. However, it never hurts to ask.

As suggested it is best to call.

From experience though the almighty little * may play a big factor in allowing the upgrade and keeping the perks. It depends on why the price dropped and most times they will say that it is not a qualifying rate.

There has been a few discussions about the promos and increased prices. Many times when the promos end the prices drop and when back on the prices increase.

Another to consider is some TAs charge for any changes in bookings, so that may be something to add in. I found that about one big TA that always advertises that the first 250 or 500 to book will get some bonus perks. I avoid them because it will off set any savings in a price drop or if I want to change cabins in the same category.

I suspect not, given my experience last year with Celebrity UK. I booked with the Drinks + Grats offer. Later, prices went down, and I rebooked with a better cabin at a cheaper price, but could only have the then current offer - just Drinks - but it was still worth doing. It'd be worth asking; just don't be too hopeful!
