coldflame Posted March 28, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Folks, I need some ProTips so I don't end up overspending in bev pkgs. We mostly sail DCL and that has us spoiled with soft drinks. So: 1) We don't drink, so alcoholic beverage packages are not for us. 2) Our kids don't drink soda, but like their juice/milk in dining rooms (or the stateroom) 3) Neither me, nor my wife drink that much soda (maybe 1 per day). We drink mostly juice, water and "common" coffee (I'm OK with paying extra for specialty coffees, though). Given this info, what bev packages would you choose for us (if any)? TIA. Ken at the beach Posted March 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Sounds like you don't really need a beverage package. Coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, milk, OJ from concentrate and flavoured water are complimentary. Cheaper to just pay as you go for the odd drink. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a flaw in our thought process. Related: could we "smuggle" in with us bottled water, don't know maybe 2-3 x 1 liter bottles? While technically it is not allowed it is rarely enforced other than possibly at spring break. May as well bring a 12 pack of soda while your at it. I agree you probably won't get any value from a package. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 28, 2015 by Julia’s Journey’s
cb at sea Posted March 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) And, the ship's water is fine...ice water is available at every eating venue and bar. Juice is only avail at breakfast, so bring a small container and pour some glasses of juice into the container, if you want juice later in the day. garycarla Posted March 28, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2015 Sorry, but simple math makes this an easy decision. Next, most folks find the ships water is fine.
