danda0624 Posted March 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Hello everyone, I have seen a few threads regarding ideas for anniversaries on cruise ships, etc, and I know about most of the "not so romantic" gestures onboard the ships. I am interested in ideas from my fellow cruisers on what you would do to celebrate a 15th anniversary in Belize City or perhaps even on the ship after reboarding. I am open to any ideas: romantic excursions, local beaches that might cater to special occasions, or even ideas that I could implement independent of vendors. I welcome your thoughts and look forward to hearing from the community. Thanks!
BrotherCraig Posted March 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2015 Private Island -- only allows 50 people max (cruise folks). It is Little Franchman's Caye and you can book through http://www.shoreexcursioneer.com/belize/exclusive-island-beach-day-pass.html They will pick you up at the cruise terminal, get you on their boat, take you to the resort, and return you with plenty of time. Rare crewsweeper Posted April 1, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2015 That's a pretty hefty tariff if in US$. But otherwise, I think any "romantic" spot for a celebration in Belize City tht would appeal to non-Belizeans is a pipe dream. You settle for an excursion to one of the cayes with tons of others from cruise ships. ThePrincess Hotel and Casino in Belize City, a short walking distance from port, is a nice facility and hosts many weddings. They used to offer a "pool pass" to use their pool all day and it comes with some other amenities. Probably need to contact them to see if that's still available and the cost. You might also look into what an event room or a suite would cost for the day and what comes with that room. I know their restaurant has pretty good food and great views. To me, it is not hefty. I didn't think it was anyways. Not many people there either and very private. It is a private island. Beautiful place. clackey Posted April 2, 2015 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2015 BC is probably right. Your other alternative is to sit on the dock at the tourist village and watch the trash wash against it. Not much in Belize City that would be considered romantic.
