I Luv Crusin Posted April 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2015 What's new with Carnival? What new cost saving measures have they've taken in the past couple of years? Anything new with the Conquest? We are sailing next January 2016.

Miller_KC Posted April 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2015 We all get our own oar now. Each outside cabin has to row :p Actually the latest I heard is they are dropping the pillow chocolate.

I Luv Crusin Posted April 3, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted April 3, 2015 I think he/she was being sarcastic lol I didn't want to assume! Have the room service menu changed? How about the steak house menu? Is the Chef's Dinner still good? What is the menu? Is there a Serenity Deck on the Conquest? How many elegant nights? Thanks! Schmidty Posted April 3, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Just got off the Triumph this afternoon and was disappointed that Carnival no longer has the ship lapel pins.

mzloolue Posted April 3, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2015 Oh, remember the captain's cocktail party? It was eliminated because too many people attended. And it was replaced with a Fun Farewell Party? It was eliminated because not enough people attended. But it was replaced by a free drink coupon, remember? And the coupon was eliminated because people complained due to restrictions on when and where the coupon was valid. Carnival announced that most people would rather have a drink of water than a Long Island Iced Tea. So to help us all out the free drink has been replaced by a bottle of water. Which is how a cocktail party became a drink of water.:) Carnival magic. Yay.
firespud Posted April 3, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2015 It looks like your last cruise with Carnival was just last year in March. we have not cruised since last April, but will be cruising again in 14 days!! All I know about any changes are because I have read them on here. I have not been on the Conquest so I can't answer any questions about that specific ship. They did do away with the free drink coupon, unless you are platinum or above, and replaced it with a free bottle of water. I believe they have also done away with the chocolates at evening turn-down. They have added a steak choice in the MDR for an upcharge. Have not cruised since they did this, but will not pay an upcharge. IMO there are plenty of food choices without paying an upcharge, but I don't have a problem with Carnival doing this. I believe I have heard this is an addition to the menu and not something they already offered and you now have to pay for. None of these changes make me reconsider Carnival as my choice for a cruise line. I still believe they deliver a good product for the price paid.
