algaes Posted April 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2015 Curious whether any previous river cruisers whose cruise included Mother's Day recall if the cruise line did anything special that day. It falls on May 10th this year during the Barcelona to Bergen leg of the 50 day cruise. That day is scheduled to the the Paris stop. So a trip to Paris is what I got my spouse  If it revolves around dinner then many moms will miss it with the extended tours planned that day due to ship berthing in Rouen. Rare Vineyard View Posted April 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2015 Two years ago we were on Amsterdam-Budapest on Mother's Day. There were roses for all, beautiful cake, and another of their delicious dinners. If I remember correctly they bumped up the menu a bit from the standard wonderful level. Logistigr8r Posted April 9, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2015 I had forgotten about it being Mothers Day, but I had realized it was a Sunday. I don't know about Paris, but most things in Rouen will be closed. No Galleries Lafayette, Printemps,... even many restaurants are closed. I guess I don't need to remind this bunch that the French do not keep the same hours we do. Paris will still be there and there will be plenty to see. Enjoy:)
