gnatz007 Posted April 18, 2015 Author #127 Share Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Fourth Night -- Italian Night -- I had the Mahi Mahi and a shared plate of Speghetti from the head waiter. Both were fantastic! Also had the Iced Peach Soup.. wow tasty! For some reason I took a picture of the dessert menu. So bonus everyone! Fifth Night -- Dunno what the called this one either. But I started with the Spring Rolls... DO NOT MISS OUT ON THESE! and the Prime Rib. Unfortunately my wife is a master at Prime Rib, and this one was great, but not as good. (sorry for the crooked picture...) Edited April 18, 2015 by gnatz007
gnatz007 Posted April 18, 2015 Author #128 Share Posted April 18, 2015 In the evenings by the pool, the trident grill would switch over to BBQ. I kept meaning to go up and try the wings, brisket and ribs, but never got around to it. I guess that leaves me a good reason to get back on the ship soon! gnatz007 Posted April 18, 2015 Author #129 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Sixth Night -- Captains Gala Dinner (my favorite) -- I had the Crab, Scallop, and Shrimp, and the Lobster with giant prawns. YUM! Seventh and Final Night -- American Night -- Kind of a boring night for me, and just did the Pan-Seared Corn Fed Chicken. I ate way to much during the day and needed something a little more light. My wife enjoyed the Turkey, and my daughter wasn't over excited about the New York Steak. Said it was a little dry. shredie Posted April 18, 2015 #131 Share Posted April 18, 2015 Yep, the all-seafood on the lobster menu. That's my regular. The Tian appetizer is one of my favorites. I see a cream of artichoke soup. Is this new or have I been somehow missing it? Sounds good.

gnatz007 Posted April 18, 2015 Author #133 Share Posted April 18, 2015 We may have a serious problem. I think we are addicted. We just booked a cruise for next February. Not sure if we will keep it or not... Western Caribbean on the Caribbean Princess out of Texas.

I hope you go on the Caribbean Princess--even with the added Riveria deck, it's as wonderful as the Star! gnatz007 Posted April 20, 2015 Author #136 Share Posted April 20, 2015 I love seeing your pictures. Thank you! We absolutely loved the trip, and every day we talk about it. Our kids are going through some serious withdrawals. Unfortunately for them, our next cruise will be without them ;) Not that we didn't absolutely have fun with them, cruises are a way for my wife and I to enjoy each others company, reconnect, and come back new. On the Star all of the Seafood was fantastic! TBH, all of the meat dishes were kind of a hit miss. While still good, we do it better (more to our liking) at home. Northender Posted April 20, 2015 #138 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Just wondering if you found any post tour paperwork? Would like to know if Princess did a disembark tour with drop off at the airport.:) Please don't go crazy looking for it. Posting more pictures of food porn would be nice too.;)

Northender Posted April 21, 2015 #141 Share Posted April 21, 2015 Thanks. No problem. The worst we can do is take Princess Transfers to the airport and the best would be if they have a tour first.:)

Carole_T Posted April 22, 2015 #145 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Thank you so much for all the great photos! We don't sail until December to South America so I need lots of holding over until then:) We sailed Princess once on the Sapphire in 2010 and found the horizon court to always be horribly crowded. Was this the same on the Star?
gnatz007 Posted April 22, 2015 Author #146 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Thank you so much for all the great photos! We don't sail until December to South America so I need lots of holding over until then:) We sailed Princess once on the Sapphire in 2010 and found the horizon court to always be horribly crowded. Was this the same on the Star? It wasn't too bad. We never had a problem getting right into the food area, and had very minimal waits getting to the stuff we wanted to eat. (Maybe three people in line at most) The tables right in the Horizon court were a little packed. But if you move towards the stern of the ship, we were always able to find seating for the six of us. It was a little more hectic than normal I think, due to the nature of this cruise, a California Coastal right in the middle of Spring Break in the Bay area. In the Horizon Court there were a lot of kids that would "squeeze" into lines, but they were fast and didn't really bug me. The Ice Cream line was always a bit long. (not longer than a 5 min wait) but compared to other cruises, this was longest line for us.
dancing lady Posted April 22, 2015 #147 Share Posted April 22, 2015 I was on this cruise March 14th. Just looked at my patters and in the last patter, it mentioned the "City Drive & Golden Gate" SFO 001 tour for $59, which included transfer to SFO airport. Don't know if that was the only tour offered on disembarkation day or the only one that still had space available on that day. dancing lady

Rare cr8tiv1 Posted April 22, 2015 #149 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Thanks, dancing lady. I will head to the excursion desk on day 1.:D:DWould love to burn some time as we have a red eye back to the East Coast. Why wait? You should be able to book this excursion when the list comes out on your personalizer. You are not charged for booked excursions before you get on the ship and they are very good about cancellations.

You are not charged for booked excursions before you get on the ship and they are very good about cancellations. Well, I have been trying to do that. Except for one thing, no excursions show. I called Princess twice after reading a post before dancing lady's - it was a month or so ago that they had a tour in SFO with drop off to airport. I even asked my TA to call and he received the same answer. Now, I have no clue why there are tours and Princess says there are no tours.:(
