On the Breakaway....ask away

Hi. This my first post. My Husband booked us on the Breakaway for next January. I'm kinda disappointed after reading some of the reviews. Really upset about the charges for room service. Never been on a cruise that charged for room service. We opted for the drink package...Do you know whether this includes frozen drinks like pina coladas? If not I'm seriously thinking about cancelling. Thanks and I hope you're enjoying your cruise!

The drink package includes everything under $10 which is most of the drink menu other than super premium alcohol. which mostly is single malts and cognac.

Please give accurate information. The UBP includes drink $11 and under. Starting in July the UBP will also give an $11 discount to any drink over $11.

They upped it to $11.00 once they upped the 15% gratuity to 18% gratuity.

Is the room service charge this week still $7.95 or are they trying a new price point this week?

hybrid this week.

The breakfast pastries are totally free. The eggs and lunch items are 7.95

I met up with a room steward I know from another cruise. He said last week was a disaster charging 7.95 for everything, especially to latitude members.

With all the recent NCL changes, let me know if you have any questions!!

I was on the Breakaway last April, And I was wondering if you could check under the craps Table I believe I left $1000 there can you check.

Thanks

the only thing that really concerns me ( from previous reviews) are complaints that it's very "smoky" throughout... your experience?

The only place you can smoke is the casino. I would say there it is a little smoky. This week is an older crowd and people with small non school age children so the casino is packed.

Everywhere else in the ship is 100% ok. Smoke really bothers my wife and she had the same feelings. Not smoky at all

We have heard that the bar menus have been pared down. Are they still making our favorite frozen drinks like Mudslides, BBCs and Dirty Bananas? And are they under the $11? Thanks for taking time out for us while you are on your cruise:D

I, also, have heard that the bar menus have been pared down. However, whatever drink you want....on that menu or not......I've heard if you just ask for it you'll get it.

My concern is that sooner or later they will quit making our old favorites that we aren't seeing on the new menus. To us a favorite part of a cruise includes days sitting on the deck with a Mudslide or BBC in our hand. Hoping they aren't paring down the menu to where a bartender isn't able to make these:confused:

Thank you for posting from the BA. It's always appreciated when there's so much to do on the ship.

OP, are you using the ship's WiFi now or plan to/continue to use it for the rest of the cruise ?? Is it still offering the MB data plan - i.e. $59 for 800 MB ?

Besides making (or announced plans for, soon to be) Shanghai Noodles a free option instead of specialty, a la carte venue - any other "specials" on the ship this week? Folks probably wanted to know about any specials for Cirque dinner show from Day 1 - discounts offered?

It's all abroad time now, getting ready to sail to GSC overnight, enjoy the island tomorrow - especially if you can get on the first tender boat, priority or with shore-ex booked on the ship.

You are docked at the new cruise terminal at PC, did you go ashore & how was getting off the gangway into the building & return to the ship, etc. - someone else wanted to know if there're plenty of taxis waiting outside to go over to Coca Beach? How much is the current fare for the shuttle to/from the beach on your own? These are good stories & update to share with all.

Enjoy your evening !

This is just what I needed...thanks for offering to answer questions. I have so many!

What was your first impression of the ship?

What have you been most impressed about?

What were you disappointed about?

So smoking is not allowed on The Waterfront anymore and only allowed in the casino?

Is the Noodle bar open for lunch ever? Free or ala carte?

How do you get tickets for Howling Moon?

Are you eating at Ocean Blue? Is it Worth it?

I am also wondering if they have drink menus at each of the bars? Celebrity just took their bar menus away and I missed them.

Can you order extra appetizers at the specialty restaurants?

Does the Ultimate Dining Package waive the extra $10.00 upcharge for the menu items in Le Bistro?

Happy Cruising!

The only inside place? Or the only place on the whole shop?
